SLI Titans Overclocked and tested at 5760 x 1080 and in 3D

do you happen to have a saved game for the start of Going Hunting for BF3?
I re-built my machine the other week and didn't get a back up... I've found some Ares II crossfire benches @ 7680 for Going Hunting and want to compare

My bench runs are done on the operation swordbreaker. I can send you my saved game if it works swapping it in for you?

Gregster.. Would you recommend a single Titan as an upgrade from a GTX 680 Lightning.. as I only game @ 1080p 120hz Benq. Or should I stick with what i've got?

See I had no plans to upgrade until you posted the 1080p benchies now Im kinda curious, would it be worth the jump in price.. for the single monitor performance.

Really good work on the bench marks

If you can get a good price for your 680, I would say yes but not at these inflated prices. If your pocket can afford it, go for it. It will serve you for a couple of years minimum (quote me on that later guys) and those bench results were as fair as I could do.

Latest games are pushing the cards hard and if you have no wish to SLI, a Titan makes good sense for 120Hz. Everything is smooth and every detail is on. Again I will mention the price and I feel it is £200 too much but look to yourself for justification and if it is a nod, go for it. If it is a shake, wait for the 7 series maybe.

Tough one anyways. :)

Do you just need the saved files from my documents? If so I will send via email.

yes I believe so, thanks

@Parabellum: for single screen 1080p I would be looking to 680 / 670 SLI before going to a Titan - the same or more performance on a single screen for far less cost... it's quite a big premium to pay just to steer clear of potential SLI problems that tend to get patched out in time

Ty Gregs / Andy for reply.. Dam I’m stuck on this one guys! I only want a single card as I've had a bad experience with going Sli in the past.. Whereby I mean the games where not fully optimized for Sli "BF BC2" not fully utilizing both gpus - only running at 35% on both.. I had poor fps for a Sli setup

Dam you nvidia... @ £700 I would shell out no probs

Njoy the Titans Gstar ;)

The Titan should be the most powerful GPU available until Maxwell / 9-series cards based on 20nm. These should start to appear in mid-2014, though that is all dependent on TSMC keeping to their current schedule for high-volume 20nm products. The "high-end" ~300mm^2 20nm chips from Nvidia and AMD ("GTX880 or HD9900) are likely to be around 8Bn transistors, and I would wager that they will outperform a Titan by around 10-25%. But that's 15-18 months away.

As for buying a Titan for 1080p gaming - I wouldn't, if value for money is a concern. If you have unlimited disposable income then sure, why not - it's a very fast card. But if you're looking for a 'bang for buck' solution then it's hard to see the value in shelling out over £500 (after the sale of your GTX680) for a 30% performance bump in the odd one or two games that a single GTX680 can't handle perfectly.

Thanks for taking the time to post these benchmarks btw gregster :)

If I was going to upgrade from a single 680, it would be for a 690 tbh.

I don't make any of you wrong and I am a little biased for obvious reasons. The one bench that stuck out for me was BF3. A Titan is double the performance of a 680 on the average frame rates. That isn't bad going for a single card. You get the extra VRAM which we all know will do no harm at all in the future.

I badly want to recommend it but that price (even launch of £820) is just OTT for me to do that. If you game in 3D or 120Hz, and you want the best and you have deep pockets....

Meh!!! If it drops a couple of hundred, I will be recommending it for sure.

Thread makes me jealous as heck. It's a multiple weeks long negotiation with the better half for me to change one part unless one of the kids needs something and i can pass the old off. I'd need the verbal diarrhea of a country ambassador to persuade her that one Titan is worth it, never mind two.

It gets easier when they grow up and start working. My funds are very good now :D

Agreed, it needs to be a £599 card and no more, even that is a little OTT.

Legitreviews. How can these reviewers "honestly" post this kind of tripe. Someone will buy a GPU on these kind of review sites and it is shcking that they would give this kind of info.

Very naughty and another site in my black book.

I am installing BF3 on my Titan system now, I want to see what performance I get compared to my other nvidia cards. I don't like the game but that does not stop me being curious.:D

Thanks,
looking at reviews it’s a fail, my Sli GTX 680's 4gb @ 5760x1200 Ultra 4xAA runs at a steady 90fps and up on BF3,
I wonder why the Titans run slower, did you use the Gen3.0 Patch, and this made a massive performance increase for me.
After lots of testing with 3Way 680’s I also found Far Cry3 the most troublesome, I resulted to Dirext9 and this was at 7680x1440.
Soon as I get my Titans I will do some bench marks at 7680x1440 but from what I have seen they will be going back soon after 

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
23904, 286901, 60, 118, 83.318

That is my BF3 results with ultra details on 5760*1080 with an OC of +130 and +249 Memory.

I tested Operation Swordbreaker and if you are getting above 90 average, your 680's are better than Titans.

I know :s what level or map do you use to bench? i will do the same tonight and video it with Afterburner..

This is at 7680x1440 and I was hitting 40-100fps in parts this was without GPU OC and 9months ago, the new drivers and a good overclock i sit steady at 55-100fps, im sure the 4GB 680's result much better than the 2Gb cards from what I’ve seen. Plus the Gen3 helps with my setup but can BSOD in some games for no reason with the Patch on.

Operation Swordbreaker. I start the fraps bench as soon as the music starts and the soldiers are seen in the truck and end it when you hear "clear, clear, I am up".

I have to be honest and say "no way are you getting more frames than me". I am sure when you give your fraps results, it will show it either proof for either of us though.
