SLI- Whys it not 2x as fast?

As you can see, when the screen is full of complex items (top pic) then its 50/50... but when there is more calculations to be done rendering the bottom half, the split is 70/30 (2nd pic). It can only work out how much each card should render by calculating it - hense the complexity :}
That's really clever! :D
 
I'm quite sure that alternate frame rendering is also done with SLi (not at the same time as split frame). I seem to recall reading something about it being technically superior and giving better frame rates in most games than split frame, but suffering from latency issues of a few miliseconds which effectively make it usless in first person shooter games....which by chance are also generally the most graphically demanding.

Already? Aint got mine till late may / early june.... writing my 25k thesis aint stopped me spammin like a hoe. Cant let down uncle ATI just cos I got education commitments :p
 
Software Engineering. Doesnt have to be 25k words.... but guide line page count is around 85 pages and when I handed in almost 95page I was told there are still some gaps to fill. fs ;p

Didn't know Nottingham did post grad Software Engineering. Good for you mate. I suppose you plan to be practical and actually DO something with your masters rather than become a professional scholar (or full time-long term student as they are also called).
 
ew no im not doing a masters mate - this a bach of science micky mouse thing :} cant afford to miss out on any more money years - so going into the industry after I get me piece of paper.
