Slow boot times

Hey guys,

I have recently installed the Crucial M4 in my sig, and for the first couple weeks boot times were great, no problems what so ever. But now for some reason, the boot times are taking as long as 40 seconds and when it boots in the icons on my taskbar take 10-12 seconds to become usable - they just appear as white unknown icons for 10 seconds or so. I have ran scans and everything with no problems.

Here is a benchmark.

Any ideas what may be causing this?

Running the latest firmware. Weird thing is, if i change the drive to ATA it boots up quicker and its fine, getting quite annoying now :/

I would say this probably isnt a HD issue but something holding up the startup sequence. Check MSconfig and see whats in the startup. You could also try system restoring back to a date when it was working faster. If it speeds up, its software.

Bingo.

Was some office generic monitor **** booting at startup.
