Hey i just bought a samsung evo 850 500gb i did the test for speed and iops speeds for random write and read is slow.

I have it on ACHI mode in bios and updated ACHI to latest drivers but still slow they read 45327 out of 98000 and write is 32341 up to 90000 i am using the Gigabyte 970A-UD3P motherboard and windows 10

thanks GothicCorpse

what software are you using to test the drive?

are you doing it through the magician software or using something else?

seems like the board has only got sata3 ports and no sata 2 ones.

make sure you have all the drivers\software for the mobo installed as well.

download the magician software if you dont have it already and do the over provisioning stuff.

rapid mode doesnt work on W10 on version 4.7

Exact same thing here; the IOPS are well below what the ads boast. I'm also using an AMD system (990), maybe that's a factor? I actually get worse results with the latest / Asus supplied SATA driver than I do from the older Windows OOTB one. It's still fast of course, just nowhere near as fast as advertised.

don't hold me to this but i remember something being posted before about it being a chipset or driver issue but cannot find a fix or solution for it

the IOPS that your getting is the same as what i am getting but my drives are connected to a sata 2 port as sata 3 on my mobo are terrible
