Hi,

I have an Agility 3 240gb on Asrock Z77 Extreme4 motherboard connected to Intel sata3 port as primary OS disk.
The benchmarks show quite a slow performance especially in writing...
Compared to various reviews I get about half the writing performance in AS-SSD.
These are my AS-SSD results:
Seq: 210,75mb/s--151,06mb/s
4K: 16,58mb/s--48,08mb/s
4K-64Thrd: 140,71mb/s--121,82mb/s
Acc.time: 0,213ms--0,299ms
Score: 178--185, Total:458

and Crystaldiskmark:
Sequential Read : 213.886 MB/s
Sequential Write : 139.253 MB/s
Random Read 512KB : 202.691 MB/s
Random Write 512KB : 130.550 MB/s
Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 25.265 MB/s [ 6168.2 IOPS]
Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 57.765 MB/s [ 14102.8 IOPS]
Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 124.424 MB/s [ 30377.0 IOPS]
Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 139.512 MB/s [ 34060.6 IOPS

Any ideas?

The system feels snappy and fast though...

Are you 100% sure your on Intel sata3 ports? Those looklike sata2 speeds

Test with atto and post a screenshot

Hope its working

what does atto say, sorry to keep asking but atto is what ocz recommend

it should be pretty similar to this

its swings and roundabouts, sandforce is better at compressable data, marvell isn't hence the different figures in the other benchmarks,if you tested a crucial m4 in atto it would be slower but quicker in as ssd

Ya look like sata 2 speeds , make sure your sata cable is 6G SATA3 & IN A 6G Port on motherboard ,have alook in your motherboard manual to check, also make sure in bios
Also check in the Windows device manger the controllers

Z77 Extreme4 has a mixture of SATA 2 3GB/s and SATA 3 6GB/s ports. The 4x black SATA ports are SATA2 3GB/s whilst the 4x grey SATA ports are SATA3 6GB/s. The 2x grey ports on the left are supplied by Intel Z77 and the 2x grey ports on the right are supplied by AS Media (ASM1061).

try the ssd in AS Media ports on the for right of picture & make sure you have the asmedia drivers installed

heres a picture of my new Intel 520 series 180GB SSD

Are u actually using the z77 extreme4 board? I see on the results u attached that the controller is AMD...

Is it possible that since i have connected all my sata devices to Intel ports the speed is slower?
Apart from the agility3 i have a momentus xt and a 2tb disk and a dvdrw.

Some more info.

Although achi is selected in bios and sata 3 is shown in uefi, all my disks work in ata100. Both hw info and hd tune show ata6 supported but ata5 as active. This happens for all 3 disks so i don't think its the cables. Any ideas?

I just tried to install the Intel rst drivers but computer hangs while restarting in windows logo...any ideas?

yes you wont be able to use them if your running an amd board, you can do system restore to before you installed them to get rid of them

I thought you had an intel board
