Small mod to the Fiddy

Now, that's my thought. It's a sport model so it has all of the factory chrome removed apart from the grille and a bit on top of the door handles.

Never got the hate on here for black grills.
Audi have been shipping models out of the factory with the chrome grills painted for ages with their "black edition" models.
Don't see why its considered such a chav mod to not like chrome

and before the black editions, they just called it "black style pack" option. i've got it on mine. looks great, and not as matte as the 7 above; more satin.

Don't some BMWs come with black grills as standard? Or was it a factory option or are they all painted after market?

Only one i know that has it out of the factory is the M3 GTS.
Its not an option on any other current car afaik.
Some Alpina models came with black grilles I think. Certainly the D3 I see knocking around here has a black grille.
I've possibly got the worst, ghetto style taste on here but even I can't seem to come to a definite conclusion on the black grills. They don't look bad at all, but the chrome just looks better on a 7, unless there were other tasteful modifications made to the car to give it a more aggressive look I just can't see it working too well. Sorry

I must have too much chrome going from the reactions in to it in this thread. 
Think I drove past you on Winchcombe Road a week or so back and have to say I was surprised by how good the car looked, if it was indeed you
Yeah, probably me. I live on Colleton Drive which is off Winchcombe Road.
I'm not aware of any other E65s that live in Twyford anyway.
The big BMW's seem to have a certain menace to them, have to admit I have a weakness for the 6/7 series coupe's, they just look like they are about to bite your head off, and it certainly seems to have carried over to yours. Theres a 650 coupe floating about somewhere too that I've sat behind at the crossroad traffic lights a few times.
