Smartwatch Thread (news/apps/updates)

I have a Garmin instinct 2s solar currently. I am thinking of buying a pixel watch 3 or potentially 4. I would be buying second hand.

I have had a Galaxy watch 4 before. It was a great watch but the battery was terrible.

I was wondering whether the fast charging on a pixel would help negate the need for a decent battery. If I can just put it on charge while I shower, and it go from 20-100%, then that would make living with a tiny battery more manageable.

If you shower for an hour or so it should.

I picked up a Pixel Watch 4 a few weeks ago as an upgrade from a Galaxy Watch 6.

With the GW then it had to be charged every day and I got into the habit of charging it when I was in the shower and then in the evening as well (particularly on days where I had a super early start the next day and might not be able to charge it in the morning).

The PW has proven to be much more robust, battery wise. I get through about 30% a day and can hit three days comfortably (with AOD turned off), and then it charges back up to full in 40 minutes.

I had thought the fast charging was much faster than that.

It's good to know that the battery can last up to 3 days. That's a massive improvement compared to the Galaxy watches.

If you charge for roughly 15mins a day you should never be out of charge. I usually put it on with 40% battery and by the time I shower it's over 90% percent.

You using the PW with a Samsung?

No, I've got a Pixel 9 Pro. Another reason I wanted to switch away from the GW6.

I have the GW 6 classic 43mm with a S24+ and same issue with having to charge as soon as I wake up or 2 hours before sleep. I saw the GW8 classic and a let down with the design, battery and screen and also losing the wireless power sharing feature.:(

I would like to try the pixel 4, but I know i would miss the rotating bezel.

As usual I've read all the online comparisons to death but anyone got any real life thoughts between Pixel Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 8?

Doesn't seem a lot in it, I'm using an Honor Magic V5 so brand of watch doesn't make a difference matching to phone.

Thanks
