I'm going through an RMA process with Logitech due to a faulty middle button on my MX1000.

Logitech asked me to send 2 pictures of the mouse + base unit, the 2nd pic has to be of the units destroyed in such a way that it's not usable any more.

I have to send the pics today sometime so yes, what way should I do the damage? :D

Hmm, do you have access to any military equipment, such as a cannon, a tank or any form of explosive?

Got an old microwave you dont need anymore?

Do you live on or near a tall block of flats?

Or you could go for a slightly more boring large hammer or bat.

Just use your imagination and post the picture on here too! :D

PK!

Why cant we use the laser cannon on the space station, we never get to use the laser cannon on the space station!! :D

OK, limited resources at home means I can only use a few items, no oven because people will kill me for putting "non food items in there" (don't ask, lol)

I chose to see if it smashes first, it did not....

I then drove over it with my car expecting it to break into tiny flattened pieces, it did not....

I moved the mouse to under the rear wheels deciding some wheel spin action would render it "unusable" and the result was only a small amount of damage given the weight and distance the spinning wheels threw it back!

The end result?

I have to congratulate Logitech in building a tank of a mouse!

I'm now having to use a cheapo £6 wired mouse until the new mx1000 comes in 4-5 days time, bleh!

They will probably say its useable :p

I must never get one of these in case I upset the missus and she throws it

Kidding aside, i cant believe they ask you to send in pictures of it being destroyed.

***I must do an RMA on my 32" LCD*** :D

When I RMA'd my G5 they asked me to cut the plug off and send them the mouse, they even paid the postage for me. This is obviously a better way for them. They did it all on trust and even sent me the mouse FIRST. I mean, wow, fantastic customer service.

I wonder if they will try to refurbish that and send it to some one. :D

Great job by the way mrk. :)

When I got my MX1000 replaced due to crap battery time they didn't ask me to destroy my old mouse. Must be new measures against people claiming free stuff.

Not surprised really, it does seem like quite a few people have been unfairly taking advantage of it. Good customer service like this shouldn't be abused - it isn't fair.
