Sneak...Drinks

So.. Don't care you don't want to hear its bad for you, it seriously is. If I'd had carried on, Dr said I'd be dead in 10 years.
Wow. Very prudent to see a real world example in this thread. Well done on the change.

Ribena got ruined since they changed the recipe for the sugar tax. I drink far too much Pepsi, was hoping to use lock down as a period to shift some bad habits and get over withdrawal but not had the willpower due to work.

I'd like to just drink diluting juice for the convenience but the flavours I like don't agree with my stomach for some reason...just stick to boxes of cola and diet cola for dinner/lunch, sometimes apple juice
coffee in the morning

energy drinks smell like medicine :p

My go to drink is Pepsi Max, I hate Diet Coke, and Coke Zero ranks below diet Pepsi for me.

Saying that, I do prefer the occasional Coca-Cola or Red Bull to the diet alternatives, but find them too sickly or syrupy to consume in any sort of frequency.

Energy drinks are 75% the reason I have liver disease. The other part is an unhealthy 3L per day of Coca-Cola.

Stopped drinking both, went through some serious withdrawal symptoms.

I'm 5st lighter now though.... And I only stopped drinking them, diets the same as before.

I'm 31...

No scientific evidence has yet been able to show that drinking diet energy drinks is any more harmful than drinking the caffeine equivalent of coffee when you control for sodium content.

If on the other hand you are consuming masses of sugar in the form of fructose or sucrose such as the gargantuan 3 litres of Coca-Cola a day then obviously it will cause a fatty liver just as other simple carbohydrates like alcohol do, but that is not something specific to energy drinks or indeed soft drinks in general. Most people struggle to consistently manage even 2L of fluid intake a day.

Now ive been a red bull / energy drinking person for easily 20yrs, I don't want people to give me the low down on "its bad" etc etc.

ive changed to sneak, local Manchester bunch of people, opposite the library, but I was wondering what is everyone else's go to drink???

My brother bought me a tub of that G Fuel powdered stuff that Dr Disrespect and other twitch streamers pump as a joke birthday present. Great as an energy drink, even better as a turbo laxative.

I work for aldi so i know all about them ;) dark thunder for the win :)

I also like monster cold coffee they do but thats only ever in the £ shop and its imported because its a high caffeine content...

Razerwire???? Powder is mega caffeinated 100mg per 100ml lol....
I've seen the Monster coffee ones in my local Tesco Express.

I usually just drink water/whatever squash is in the house.

I think the 2500kcals/600g of sugar per day from Coke was your issue there. The extra ingredients on top of sugar in energy drinks are not going to have any real effect on fatty liver.

I had a quick look but couldn't find anything online... I'd love to see Ribena sales figures before and after they changed their recipe. Literally everyone I know who had an opinion on it, absolutely hated the new recipe and vowed never to buy it again. It's disgusting and myself and the girlfriend swiftly moved to Rocks for our occasional blackcurrant drink. If I want to drink or eat things with sugar in, that's my prerogative and I will do so sensibly. Everything in moderation. They screwed the pooch with that recipe change. We're constantly arguing in bars/pubs (well, were.. ) about having mixers with sweeteners in. We have to be selective when buying tonic and all-sorts now. It's ridiculous. I DON'T WANT SWEETENERS I WANT SUGAR DAMMIT.

Loads of drinks changed recipe to slide under a certain limit. A month after the change I found an old bottle of full sugar sprite instead of the 50/50 they now call full sugar and the taste was so much better. I'd rather pay the tax and have a treat than this half attempt to cut sugar in everyone's diet.

I was an absolute addict of Rockstar but once they changed the recipe when the sugar tax came in I couldn't stomach it at all. So I got rid of a very bad habit. I do now and then have a red bull but its more because I want to be alert and not because I fancy one, maybe one a week tops.
