Anyone going to get Sniper Ghost Warrior 2?

Half tempted to pre-order from steam, currently still playing V2

Novalogics joint ops and escalation featured some great sniping mechanics. You could crawl through the grass to get into range, (no spotting ala bf3). Also, it featured realistic scope zoom and bullet drop compensation, great for making really long range shots.

Call of Duty World at War has a amazing sniper level, and obviously sniper rifles in multiplayer but not really sneaking around just erm standing in one spot and alternating between poking out of cover and hiding behind it.

Maybe that makes it sneaky?

Not sniper rifles, but a cross bow and depending how you play it can be very, very sneaky.

In all honesty the best snipey stealthy game I have ever played is ....

DayZ

ok it has a bit of a learning curve but once you have the basic game down it becomes the most intense sniping simulator there is.

Absolutely try it.

It was a flight sim engine. Voxels etc.

P sure you could do a ArmA campaign very close to it in concept if not execution.

Yeah given the mixed reviews of Ghost Warrior I'm waiting until 2 is out before I grab it. Unless there's a demo?

Another vote for Hitman if you like the sneakiness. There's sniping in it, but mostly the enjoyability comes from the fact that you can sneak your way through in lots of different ways and never be detected. Story is good too, awesome voice acting. Equally, the earlier splinter cell games (up to conviction, which is such a weak console game imo) are great for sneaking about and shooting people from shadows.

If your not hung up on using guns then you can't go far wrong with an archer/sneak build in Skyrim
