Sniper: Ghost Warrior

Demo was terrible.

Stealth movement was only challenging because the AI can spot you in a group of dense bushes. I can understand if you're wearing a clowns outfit, but a ghillie suit! C'mon!

Game looks to be far too linear and set pieces seemed slightly bugged. Nobody seemed to notice an unsilenced sniper shot in zero ambient noise.

I love how loads of people suddenly become experts in real life sniping

how you mean?.. no one has said anything that needs much degree of prior knoledge of sniping. ok saying the bullet physics was off , maybe, but id say thats a fair comment, its hardly like people are pointing at innacuracies with the guns etc. Many people know more than you'd think, i for one own a ghillie suit, y'know for rainy days ( genuinely do, but not for rainy days)

for paintballing mainly (although i rarely go now, it did make it a lot better), and when i used to go on a camp, we used to have a "desert storm", where we would basically have a massive and very well executed game of "tig" between the camp site and the beach, it was ok going around in a ghillie suit though because it was a fairly isolated place, and it worked very well i might say, having people run past me just a few feet away.

and i made my own, although after all the research and buying wrong stuff etc the suit probably cost me around £50-£70. I made mine out of 2 string vests sewed together and hooked the matieral into those loops( i originally started dying twine, and tying that in loops, but it was very labor intensive, messy, and wasnt a great effect, so i found using dyed sandbags much better), its pretty good tbh and it was "fun" making it and its a good laugh whenever i get to use it. I live just down the road from a paintball ground (NPF) although in recent years they've stopped such free roaming woodsball, and its more just head on mindless shooting... If i was to get into it i think i'd go into airsoft as it seems far better organised, and i'm sick of the innacuracies of paintballs.

Hmm, this looks alright, but if it's like Sniper Elite in the way that once you fire every soldier within a mile knows exactly where you are then it'll get annoying very fast.

I think there is something inherently wrong with doing a sniper game in forests and alike. A sniper is designed to never be seen and quite frankly be deadly so how on earth do you make a game which poses any challenge at all other then to make it arcady "shoot these people before the time runs out while they run around like headless chickens". Quite frankly if you get shot at then you SUCK as a sniper in a forest with a guiley suit.

If you put just 1 sniper in a forest like that outside of a rebel base they would never find you and you could take pot shots all day. You could even move about to confuse them (as a good sniper would) and leave claymores and alike in your old positions. Of course if you were a sniper outside a reble base you would likely also be 1000m away so yeah, good luck spotting a guiley suite 1000m away.

I didn't like it either so no buy here. As i remember Sniper Elite was way better, minus the graphics of course.
In it's credit it looks quite good and runs smooth but gameplay meh.

a MP game where everyone is a sniper ? no thanks... I fing hate snipers and sniping + Who the hell wants to spend 20 mins hiding looking for the other guy.

what about muzzle flash?... but yeh i agree with you. Ghillie suits can work at very small distances - sub 1 metre, so the chance of anyone seeing you in forest at lare distances is slim.

When i get to the main menu in the demo the buttons to click on are hidden to the left and when i find the options i cant change the video options including the res.

The smartness of the AI is a huge factor for me... this game doesn't meet the standard that I expect.

Best example is a guy walking along with a second member of his patrol talking... I blow his brains out while he is next to him and the guy continues walking on unphased. Now these are either cold hearted men or just plain stupid! :p

ON the other hand the AI could be so smart that the man he was walking with actually has some history in the game and wanted him dead for a very long time, but where's my thanks?

If you were given several miles of space to look at in the day time I don't think you could see a muzzel flash.

What I love about games like bf2 is that I always found the best places to hide were infront of them. No one looks for a sniper on the ground 3m away they all look at the mountains and the building rooftops.
