No thread for this!

Just watched the O'Sullivan v King game and it was an absolutely amazing spectacle!

O'Sullivan in previous frame seems to have lost it and throwing a strop as he does when things don't go his way.

Next frame he comes up pots one red one black then asks the Ref what the prize is for a 147 break!

He doesn't know so awaits an answer, it turns out no 147 prize just the high break one of £4k.

Ronnie then goes on to complete a 147 after being asked to pot the black!!

His post interview he says they are getting a bit tight with the prize money and its nothing special hes done it loads of times before.

Was his 10th 147 :o Overtaken White.

I just saw this too, he was just going to walk off the table without attempting to pot the final black because there was no 147 prize, the referee pursuaded him to do so.

He shook hands with King after potting the pink so I wonder if it still counts by the letter of the rules?

Just been watching this.

Can't believe the arrogance of the man to even ask the question, let alone doing so after just potting 1 red and a black. Thankfully he's got the game to back it up.

Just had a look on BBC website and despite the obvious 'genious' of Ronnie I thought it was a tad disrespectful tbh, to both the gentlemens' game of snooker and also to Mark King.

I dont think its disrespectfull. Its just Ronnie, thats how he is, and everyone knows that. He has the upmost respect for the game and all the players in it, but when Ronnie goes off on one, he goes off on one!

I have to say, I was bored to hell watching the McManus Vs Stevens match afterwards. Very very boring. At least Ronnie is a breath of fresh air and exciting to watch. Need more people like him in Snooker :)

Absolutely this. Yeah he can do it, we all know he can do it. He has shown time and time again he has pure talent. Why the circus act?

Indeed its quite something to see it outright like that I doubt most people are even considering it or having it cross their minds.
Maybe if there were a few reds on the cushions or a few balls touching each other and blocking off pockets but that table was as good as you're likely to see. Most players would've expected a frame winning break if not an attempt at the maximum as soon as the first red went in.

Didn't watch it live due to work. Just watched it now via the BBC Snooker site.

It was amazing, that after 2 balls he was going for a 147.

On route he played some immense shots. The red in the middle, enough side to rest on the black to make it 89 and the positional play off the black onto the final 2 reds.

I think there should be a prize for a 147. It'll encourage a lot more players to go for them as at the end of the day it is their living and they've got to earn it somehow. £10k would be sufficient. Even £4k for the highest tournament break is abit random.

I also saw his interview afterwards. You've got to laugh. He is very modest about himself :p

Hilarious. Best in the game. Snooker needs more of him. His after-match interview with the complete idiot interviewer was just first-class hilariousness.

F the haters tbh.

Video of his maximum in case you want to see it, its worth every minute.

Ronnie is such a legend imo, unbelievable, at least he brings something different to snooker even though sometimes controversial.

I'm losing the will to live watching Dunn vs Campbell. I think Willie and JV are nodding off, too. There have been long moments of silence. :D

As for Ronnie, I thought he was somewhat rude when Rob Walker asked him about the fans appreciating the 147 and Ronnie shrugged it off with an air of "I don't care about them."
