Snow chains - they don't work

And the other people in the house?

As other have said being in a wheelchair doesn't prevent him from asking if the women wants any help. Instead he acts like a total **** and films her.

I love the fact that he is in a wheelchair now though. Makes him look like the victim.

WAIT, are you saying the guy filming it is a **** (cake?) because he stooding his own house filming a segment of driving stupidity?

Maybe he or the people in his house were also just as clueless, what if they went out to help and the car hit something else?

They might be good citizens and everything if they did help but by not helping they don't automatically become a **** (cake??).

What is he going to do? Latch a tow rope to his wheelchair and tow her out? Everything is so black and white to people. Also not forgetting the woman would probably refuse help as she probably doesn't want a stranger jumping in her car. If YOU got stuck and some randomer just walked over and offered to drive you out of trouble, would you accept? How do you know other people are in the house are capable of driving and him shouting out the window 'do you want any help' is of little use.

Sometimes its best to let people get on with it.

Not to mention if all these "idiots" didn't stand and film it we would have a far smaller amount of amusing incidents to watch on the internet! :p

Maybe the design of the window in his house is the sort where only the top opens and thus you need to be standing to open it and shout abuse at the idiot below?

The others in the house might have been able to help, might even have been on their way to do so but the filmer quite likely could do nothing.

By filming at least there's evidence in any future claim for damage to property.

How on earth does that work? It would stall the engine on mine if the wheel speed drops below 5mph with the clutch engaged.

If i have my DSC in "snow mode" ie half off, it usually does a damn good job (almost like an electronic LSD in the way it tries to work) but as soon as i get to the REALLY no traction situation it backs off the throttle completely and the engine stalls.

I know he's being sarcastic, but it's getting a little tiresome coming from someone who lives in a part of the country that has only seen a pathetic light sprinkling of snow.
Tell you what though, they are brilliant.
After 5 inches of snow was dumped while I was in the pub, pootling down the empty motorway in fresh powder at 2am really wasn't an issue.
Even overtook the snow plough with no fuss.

Then I spent 20 minutes drifting round a roundabout and finally went to bed.
I'm quite liking the E60 now :o

I had to look twice before I realised why it was so lulworthy :D

Is the snow even deep enough for chains, especially as most of the main roads are cleared ?

I was the only one who turned up for work today, apart from the guy who walks in, I've made a bunch of lovely circles in the pristine snow of the works car park.

Once we'd been in a bit, some snow started falling and an emergency meeting was called where we decided that the worsening conditions meant that it would soon become unsafe for driving, and for walking and thus all staff should be sent home immediately.

The motion passed unanimously.

For most folk they will probably never use them. They're handy if you're going off the beaten track (or to a foreign ski resort, I guess) because if you get stuck you can use them to get you back to civilisation. If you only anticipate using them to get to the end of the road after a fresh snowfall, you're probably better off with those sock thingies.

I have the chains, but so far have not had to use them.
