Snowboarding This Season

I'm heading back to Frisco, Colorado next April again for 2 weeks. Hopefully won't be struck down with altitude sickness this time :(.

Sod walking up 'em, get the cable car to the top, its more fun hurtling down the mountain on a glorified ironing board at 50mph than wasting energy walking up it.

I love being out in the mountains when you are boarding, cant beat the feeling

I saw the snowmobile-ambulance going out several times last year to deal with a couple of spills. Ouch not good.

I managed to end up in hospital with a broken wrist last feb although it didnt stop the rets of the boarding hol. This time i will be using wrist guards :)

You can't beat the feeling of accomplishment when you reach the top when you walk...

Hopefully going to Austria in February, Mayrhofen I think:). First time away on a boarding trip so I'm hoping their is good snow unlike the cairngorms last year:mad:.

Tis awesome though, Those are great pics. I learnt to do mine on the beach with a Landboard, was damn hard on snow though, bailed so many times lol. Immense fun :D

Nothing concrete yet... as I'm currently recovering from a broken Humerus after a nasty smash at the snowdome. (Really gay as I have over 360 days on snow and I break myself in a snowdome!)

Possibly a few weeks in Whistler on someones couch. Then maybe a few weeks in Les Arcs on someone elses couch.

So far I have booked for skiing in both Mammoth and Heavenly in March and should hopefully be going back to St. Oswalds in Austria in Feb, hoping for more snow than last year.

I would appreciate a email and [ics after your trip. I lived in Ca and skiied both areas. Heavenly has a great view and is good for beggner skiiers, mammoth is exclent for advanced skiiers and all levels of borders.

I would reccomend trying to get to kirkwood when you are at Heavenly. It is the oposite kind of resort to Heavenly- smaller less lifts, quiter, no Nevada folk, but far better skiing terrain. My most favourite resort in the whole world.

14 or 15 UK depending on the shoe.

It's just the places near me you can try snowboarding, skiing, or whatever don't have big enough shoes etc. So I can't try it and see if it's fun.

I don't reckon I'd like it anyway, sod that sliding down a mountain ********. Mountains are there for walking, climbing, etc - nothing else.

No, No. Mountains are there for walking/skinning up, then skiing down.

Seriously, you are missing out on a lot of fun and opertunities. Plus many mountaineers rely upon skis to acces the higher mountains. Skiing is really pretty easy to learn the basics. and is very rewarding.

I reccomedn doing a ski mountaineering course- you'll love it.
