So APB is utter rubbish then ..

I'm enjoying it, the shooting and driving aren't totally slick and polished, but it's a nice, fun, arcadey 3rd-person shooter - if I want a hardcore responsive shooter I play Quake Live, this is different, and it's loads of fun in a group, especially of people you know with voice comms. Plus the customisation options are insane: you can make anything from a custom gun to a custom pair of shoes to your own personal theme tune - that's right, it's got an actual MIDI sequencer in-game! I've spent at least three times as long tinkering and customizing stuff than I have actually playing so far (and that doesn't count as part of your playtime either). As for the subscription, it's less than you'd pay for a normal MMO, and tbh I might never need to pay for a subscription at all - you can buy gametime using in-game currency, and at the rate my character is earning money (combined with any cash I make on the side in the auction house - I already put a custom music track up for sale) I'll probably be able to keep playing without paying.

er to me thats not a game. thats the extra bits....

Oh, and another hing:-

I lost count of the groups I faced who’d hare toward a high point on the map and hole up, guns trained down to massacre anyone who dared come close. There’s no counter to tactics like this, and it kills any desire to keep playing.

Well that's odd, becuase I'm sure we defeated this tactic last night, where the VIP holed up in a seemingly unassailable room? We won that game quite convincingly in the end.

Dear reviewer - here's an idea. Could it be you're just crap rather than there being a problem with the game?

I think some people have been spoilt by most of the current MMO's - games where the only skill is working out if you're stats are high enough to defeat an opponent - if they are then you engage and kill - there is no reason to lose.

Picked this up last night (really need to stop buying every single pc game that gets released!!!), and my god im totally pants at it, pretty much every mission i get im ending with a 5-1 deaths to kills ratio (or worse).

Only time i ever seem to win is because of other, better players on my team, or if no enforcers actually turn up.

Guess i just need to keep battling on to unlock some weapons with more power than the waterpistol you start with.

You can get it for £25 online, only played 3 hours so far so not sure if its worth that yet.........

Played the Beta since April.
Really enjoying it.
Like someone said in here earlier, it's good fun with friends.

Also... "When it works, it’s incredibly exciting. The problem is, it doesn’t work."
Wait... wat?

Im figuring, in some kind of "Games of 2010" awards .... this game will get "Most Terrible"

Its truely one of the worst implementations of a game ive seen yet, was a good idea at first but then i actually played it and ... damn.

er to me thats not a game. thats the extra bits....

Debatable, as anyone who ever farmed to get a silly hat in any MMO will tell you. Online games are only as good as the community around them - a good game is pants if there's nobody but annoying 12-year-olds to play with, and a crap game can be quite fun if you're playing with friends.

online subscription. that just sounds meh to me.

i haven't played the demo myself.

the main points that would need to stand out for me to buy.
.Customisations = from being able to tune/change how your car looks, also change your player ect... weapons.
.Graphics and Map = you need to have a lot of room roam also being able to go into buildings, also be bugg free and being able to run on a range of pc. going from the low spec - to ultra, also good quality graphics and physics, for example if you hit a wall it sometimes crumbles, i hate static physics where you hit something nothing happens to the fence/wall/lampost. also if you damage your car you need to spend money from jobs in the game to repair it.
Servers = can't stress this any more, dedicated servers. and no lagg problems

@Dave: the customisation is indeed the most versatile of ANY MMO out there. The maps are huge, though there are only 2 of them, but they're not really explorable zones like in conventional MMOs, more like "playfields", with lots of little battles happening at once, people racing each other to their objectives etc.
Dedicated servers: no, just no! This isn't a team-based FPS, it's all about random teamups and asymmetrical matchups (say, one high-level opponents vs 2-3 lower-level ones - not that levels matter much in this game, you don't get stronger, you just get access to some slightly better gear). Having a traditional team deathmatch thingy in the walled garden of a dedicated server would suck all the fun out of it.

No its not. You already said you've probably spent 3 times as long messing around with the customisation features than you have actually playing the game which to me sounds like they spent longer screwing around letting you customise stuff than giving you something to play.

There is a big difference between playing the game to unlock something or find something and simply not playing the game because you already have these unlocks. Seriously get off the customisation thing, customsation doesn't make a game.

Different strokes for different folks man, I'm not enjoying the customization more than the game, I'm enjoying it BECAUSE of the game, I love it that I can ride around with my own custom tunes blasting out my car radio (that I composed myself in the in-game sequencer), and that people hear a specific tune I made whenever I kill them! :p It complements the game, makes it more than just a shooter. If I wanted to design silly hats and compose funny tunes for its own sake, I have better software to do that with:p The point is that I'm doing this stuff and showing them off in an MMO! :)

however customisations helps enjoy the game, than just getting a specific weapon.

Maybe you just suck?

I doubt it as it's one of the best games I've played this year.

It's funny how those that are moaning about it being terrible are the ones who can't seem to win matches :-)

You gotta be hardcore to play this game like man, yeah weeereh! Like get wit the pwogwam man, your skills is deficient(I dont know what that word means) so you should not be playing dis game man.
