I'm enjoying it, the shooting and driving aren't totally slick and polished, but it's a nice, fun, arcadey 3rd-person shooter - if I want a hardcore responsive shooter I play Quake Live, this is different, and it's loads of fun in a group, especially of people you know with voice comms. Plus the customisation options are insane: you can make anything from a custom gun to a custom pair of shoes to your own personal theme tune - that's right, it's got an actual MIDI sequencer in-game! I've spent at least three times as long tinkering and customizing stuff than I have actually playing so far (and that doesn't count as part of your playtime either). As for the subscription, it's less than you'd pay for a normal MMO, and tbh I might never need to pay for a subscription at all - you can buy gametime using in-game currency, and at the rate my character is earning money (combined with any cash I make on the side in the auction house - I already put a custom music track up for sale) I'll probably be able to keep playing without paying.
I lost count of the groups I faced who’d hare toward a high point on the map and hole up, guns trained down to massacre anyone who dared come close. There’s no counter to tactics like this, and it kills any desire to keep playing.
You can get it for £25 online, only played 3 hours so far so not sure if its worth that yet.........
er to me thats not a game. thats the extra bits....
Debatable, as anyone who ever farmed to get a silly hat in any MMO will tell you. Online games are only as good as the community around them - a good game is pants if there's nobody but annoying 12-year-olds to play with, and a crap game can be quite fun if you're playing with friends.
No its not. You already said you've probably spent 3 times as long messing around with the customisation features than you have actually playing the game which to me sounds like they spent longer screwing around letting you customise stuff than giving you something to play.
There is a big difference between playing the game to unlock something or find something and simply not playing the game because you already have these unlocks. Seriously get off the customisation thing, customsation doesn't make a game.
however customisations helps enjoy the game, than just getting a specific weapon.
Guess i just need to keep battling on to unlock some weapons with more power than the waterpistol you start with.
Im figuring, in some kind of "Games of 2010" awards .... this game will get "Most Terrible"
