My F430 spider is the most exciting car I've owned in the last decade, way more entertaining and dramatic than even the MP4-12c.
Amazed to hear that in fairness!

I would be a bit embarresed going to a business meeting in a loud Japanese car that a lot of people think are for grown up boyracers.
I wouldn't buy either. I have driven a standard GTR and I liked it a lot though it was muted and if I owned one it would need atleast a Y pipe. What I did find though and Harris also comments on this, is the GTR is a bit big, it is like a grand tourer with supercar power especially when tuned, but would you want to do what GT's are designed to do (tour continents) in a GTR? I wouldn't. Plus the image; it is what drug dealers in big cities drive and I would be a bit embarresed going to a business meeting in a loud Japanese car that a lot of people think are for grown up boyracers.
The F type does not appeal to me at all.
For the £85k or so that the F type costs I would buy something like this:

Old Gen compared to the 458 I know but much cheaper and you have the advantage of having indicators on proper stalks!
I would imagine that there is a vast gulf in the running costs difference between a used 430 and a GTR/FTR
ah yes. The enjoyment a car brings is all about 'image' and what other people think of you.
How is your new Audi?
I WOULD BUY NEITHER A F TYPE OR GTR
I WOULD BUY A USED CAR
nice 1 m8, u wud luk sik in tht

Servicing on my GT-R's was about half as expensive as the Ferrari and the replacement parts are actually very cheap in comparison but still frighteningly expensive.
New brake rotors and pads for the GT-R in the US (OEM) $10k
New rotors and pads for my F430 (ceramic) $44k
New gearbox GT-R $14k
New gearbox F430 $38k (I know because mine had one the week after I bought it)
I enjoyed both of my GT-R's but the seats absolutely killed my back. Nissan sought to make the most adjustable seat ever and yet I couldn't get comfortable in either of mine.
Basically, while the price of entry is similar for a used F430 or a new GT-R/F-Type, the cost of owning them isn't even remotely similar. The F cars are unfortunately on another level maintenance wise and you'd have to be very careful if you bought one on a "budget".
Had the GTR (2012 MY13), tuned to 650bhp, got board of the ride/noise/build quality and to get the most out of it you have to drive well above the speed limits or take it to a track.
And anyone who think it drives itself is just wrong.
Just watch this video with Chris Harris comparing it to an M5, pay attention to him after the 3min mark.
I think most of the drives itself or no "personality" comments are from people who have driven it in Forza or GT5.
I looked at an F-Type but in the end wanted a manual gearbox, probably for the last time the way car manufactures are going so went with the R8 V10 Coupe.
I think it has the plus points of both cars and then some.
