So, finally got this Ender 3 Pro Setup.....

Same thing lol

Given you have one, how easy are they to setup once in the machine?
Well considering I've been doing this a while super easy, but it's not hard to setup just reference data sheets etc, the Voron runs klipper, so for the most part use the available config and change/add what's needed.

I'm still kinda sat on the fence atm, other than quieter prints, I'm wondering if the SKR will give me anything else I need at the mo.
I'm just printing random shizz off of Thingiverse etc at the mo but I'm struggling with certain filament types (matt ones are a pita for some reason) yet my original black is a solid performer and very consistent.
If I go down the new board and ABL route then that's another £100 going on it...

I popped to see a electronics dev company last week, and i was shocked to see them using a stack of Ender 3's for their prototypes, some of the stuff they made was excellent quality. Which tells me the printer is one to persist with.

Trig, i'd be inclined to keep an eye out for a upgraded one on forums/fb marketplace. I saw one last week for £150 with pretty much everything upgraded.

So, our last remaining Ender 3 Pro died this week at work, dunno whats up with it, one of the guys tried to print some stuff and it just overflowed filament all around the hot end and now when you turn it on, it just beeps, I've replaced the thermistor as the wires were pretty badly hammered when the filament overflow was removed, but it still just beeps.
Got told that rather than spend anymore time trying to fix it, to just replace it, so, its been replaced with an Ender 3 v2..

So, now I have 2 Ender 3 Pro's at home, one dead one and my original one..
Going to strip it down and see if I can get it kick it back into life, failing that, I have a load of spares now...

I always slow the initial layer down to 10mm/s and have the bed at 60oC for the entire job, unless its something like Ninjaflex then I have the bed at 40oC initially then knock it off as its not really needed on TPU type filaments..

What I might do, if I can get this other one working, is print the parts from Thingiverse to make it a direct drive printer to test some Ninjaflex stuff that we need to print at work. The existing job takes 10ish hours to print, but we can't leave the printers on overnight, and the results we get are stringy AF.

I'm going to try tweaking the profile to see if I can get it to print in less than 8 hours, and then, through magic and voodoo try and get it to be able to print 2 at the same time, or 2 on a bed in less than 8 hours.

Right, luckily I had a spare board, picked up a 1.1.5 board cheap a while back lol put that into the Ender 3 Pro I brought back from work and its sweet, guessing there's something wrong with that other board..

So, plan is to stick the SKR into my main printer and run that as was, then with this new machine, convert it to direct drive and either run it on the 4.2.2 board from my original machine or run it on the silent 1.1.5 board, chances are I'll stick to the 4.2.2 given its 32bit and I wont be losing anything feature wise...

Well guess what, I already have a v4.2.2 board, so that v1.1.5, even though silent, would still be a step back..

So, what boards are people on here running that are on an Ender 3 Pro?
Theres the v4.2.7 from Creality, but then there's boards like the EKR from BigTreeTech...

Still, haha, not planning on going overboard on this thing but I'm starting to get the feeling that's not going to be possible as its my new thing to faff with...
1.1.5 is the same as 4.2.7 iirc

1.1.5 is silent, as is 4.2.7, however the 1.1.5 board is 8bit where the 4.2.2 and 4.2.7 are 32bit.

I'll probably stick the 4.2.2 from my main machine into the spare one now I've just installed the SKR, its printing its first CHEP cube now, need to swap the fans though as they're loud AF now the movements are quieter...
Haven't done any tweaks to the SKR yet or swapped the firmware, simply levelled the bed and started printing, will go over its capabilities tomorrow (well later today given its 0015) and see what else it can do and line up my next set of upgrades lol

What fans are people running, I've swapped this SKR in and its literally night and day difference in sound when printing, however, now the fans are loud, one of them its a bit 'rattly' sounding (part cooling fan) so going to swap them out.

I've seen a lot of people run buck converters and use Noctua fans but figured I'd ask in here first..

just to chime in. a SKR mini e3 board will make your printer almost silent and open up a lot of other options too. while i have several creality printers still with 4.2.7 boards in them the mini e3 ones always provide a better experience.

Yeah, I've just ordered another SKR Mini E3 v3 for the second printer I have now, and a glass bed, and a direct drive kit...

Almost ordered a CR/BL Touch as well but decided aginst it...

So, the original SKR Mini E3 v3 I have had a newer firmware on than the newer one, so I figured I'd go to the download page on the BTT website, download the latest firmware and stick it on both of the printers..

Well, that wasn't a great idea, both printers are now running older firmware than my original board...

Anyone on here got something newer, or at least the 2022-08-30 firmware for the Ender 3 Pro, SKR Mini E3 v3 without BLTouch?
Imagine me expecting the website to have something up to date on it...
