Dust from top to bottom then hoover. Unless you have loads of dust then hoover the majority first (ensure you have got a hoover with a good set of filters).

Maybe a little, but it saves time when putting them on, she hates it even more when I spend 5 minutes finding a left sock or something. Everyones allowed a little weirdness though right?

Dust first then hoover, although i only realise this after I hoover every damn time. Then I have a cry and read grazia to cheer me up.
