...so i gave Scratch-X a go yesterday

How long / how many coats of scratch x did you use, i'm trying to get the swirls out of my MX and they don't wanna shift with the meg's stuff you push on that hard, much heat in the pad?

Just the one coat.

I just used what the instructions said, a cotton cloth, and the same to take off.

Does nobody remember my tea towel thread ? You'll find that in the sticky ;)

I put it on like polish, but rubbed it into the paint that bit harder, it didnt work like tcut, not much red actually came onto the cloth, but it seemed to work.

To be honest i really wasnt impressed with it, then i polished the car, and it was amazing how much the paint came up once polished.

Trick is to do one panel at a time, dont take it off thought because you will overlap and it will show, put it onto each panel all round the car, then go round and take it off again afterwards, then polish :)

I dont know, it seemed more abrasive than T-Cut, and it did take out some scratches that the T-Cut didnt do a couple of weeks back (Yes, i T-Cutted the whole car, but wasnt happy with the results).

I think its like any product, you need to really work it to get the best results.

Sounds like yourjust polishing over dirt thats already there, why not try the Clay Bar, then Scratch-X, then polish ;)

You have to work the ScratchX in untill it looks like you are rubbing vaseline into the paintwork, basically when it has gone clear.

Not clayed my car yet, but i've got the meg's clay to do it, putting and taking off 4 products is enough effort without adding another stage :(

Ah well looks like a require a sunny weekend!

Yeah the last thing you want is the sun. Tried to wash my car this weekend and the water was drying before it got from the hose to the car hehe. Plus what did hit left nasty watermarks everywhere.

that does look verry good phill, i spent last weekend polishing my dads red astra aswell, as he is trying to sell it, now i have to get on with polishing mine up! to much polishing!
do you mind if i ask what happend to your brothers corsa?
also i think the darker rear lights would look much better, mine and my dads both have them and i think they look much better...
looking very shiny atm tho, well done.

This ScratchX stuff, did it make a massive difference? As in does it really get rid of swirlys? Unlike T-Cut and similar which give you more than you take away?
