And it wasn't as bad as I thought, i read some comments down the years where people said Hershey's taste like crap, and they prefer the chocolate here. I saw it in the Co-op of all places and had to try one for myself and it tasted pretty good actually.

Sure, it wasn't as creamy or milky as Cadbury's Dairy milk but i won't call it rank by any means.

Way too sickly. Best for fat yanks and people with insanely sweet teeth. Yes, teeth, a sweet tooth doesn't describe how much sugar goes into them. Cookies and Cream by Hershey's.... wonder how much cocoa goes in that?

My favourite is dark, very dark chocolate like the 70% lindt stuff. mmm ;)

I tried the chocolate and white chocolate version of them bars and would say they are ok taste wise but would'nt buy them again.

They just dont give much taste to them and dont really melt in your mouth as you would expect from chocolates over here.

What i do love are Reeses Nutrageous Bars, they are just sooooo lovely :D

Reeses Nutrageous is quite tasty. I think I tried a Hershey a few years back, I can recall it tasted pretty bad, like someone had tried to make a cocoa-less chocolate. Otherwise American chocolates are fairly good and inventive, granted the chocolate is not very authentic, but then niether is dairy milk compared to some of the European stuff.

Are you sure it wasn't one altered for the UK market rather than how the americans eat them?

The smell of one just doesn't seem right to me, but it's been a few years since I had one. They could have changed the recipe.

Had them when i lived in america, thought they tasted chalky?!.. they weren't bad but not as nice as dairy milk.

best way i can describe it is like dark chocolate but normal...if that makes any sense :)

Might be different over here though. I remember the one I had Stateside was far too sickly sweet for me, and I love my chocolate.

I had Hersheys once. I opened the wrapper and was greeted by a smell not unlike puke. It didn't taste quite so bad as it smelled, but I didn't like it at all.

my boyfriend tried one bar when we were in the US and said it tasted and smelt like vomit. :D so I bought him the bar shown in the OP (cookies and choc) for a joke over here and he said it was nowhere near as bad as the other kind. I even tried a bit and tbh was very bland.

but reeces pieces are the most horrendous chocolate type thing I have ever tasted.

If you think 70% is very dark try 85%:D
