So I might lose my job...

I assume the ones there less than a year will be first on the list.

Unfortunate for those people, but probable nonetheless.

This is excatly what I said to Euology. I know him personally and used to work at said company before "times got hard".

Given the fact that there are 4 people in the firing line who have been with the company > ~3 months and Euology and 3 others have been there 2-3+ years I really don't see how it can work any other way.

Of course, I don't know the company plans for growth or what the douche bag management will be thinking. It would be a douche bag decision to let him go above some of the others anyways. Either way, the management are douche's :D

GL mate.

depends what the managers want though doesn't it? if they want a consistent team of people who know their jobs then they'll keep the old guard but if they want to show a short term saving they'll chop their nose of to spite their face.

I think you would stay over J-Net, not that I even think you would be the one out anyway.

I'd say you are safer than a few of the others, unfortunately including your bro :(

I really don't understand why they called all of you in to meetings to say 2 of you would be let go - fear tactics, yet again.

Also, why have they just expanded into the new building upstairs as well as what they already have if they are having to lay people off to do it?

Incase people cannot tell, I also used to work for this company. I'd start putting a CV together and leave anyway.

Yeh, this is true. Hence I said I don't know what they are thinking.

My experience as well as a few other guys in this thread is that the place often conducts itself like being in a school play ground rather than a business.

Easy to say this, having come from an "expendable" role. Management phat cats who sit around all day making stupid decisions with no real knowledge/information to base said decision will be the ones choosing peoples fate.

This is the worrying thing really.

Everyone should be scored on varying subjects like timekeeping, attendance, quality of work etc.

check out your scores and adjust if not happy in your meetings.
