So I realised the error of my ways...

I get album work on mine?

Because your car was built after September 2010 and thus has a Combox fitted.

Weirdly although the Combox first appeared in March 2010 on the E90, the F10 didn't get it for 6 months despite being an all-new model. So the first 6 months of production don't have it.

I can't remember the last time I entered a destination into the nav, I just send everything to the car from Google Maps on my PC or my phone :D

What is this alchamy of which you speak?

If you have a BMW Connected Drive subscription, you can send destinations to the Sat Nav by clicking 'Send to Car' in Google Maps. You also get a Smartphone app which allows you to do much the same thing, as well as other features like remote lock/unlock, BMW Concierge service from the nav, etc.

It's free for 3 years then £120 a year. Every car has a 3 year subscription free once activated, the guy who bought mine new never activated it, so happy days :D

Yea got that had the app but never really used it much other than to make my lights flash and impress people. Probably lapsed now as the chap before me never had it either, probably because it was BMW.

Yea, I never use the app (Except as a proxy because if you click a place on Google Maps on your iPhone or Android device and hit 'Share' you can 'Share' it with 'Send to Car' and it does it) but the ability to just click on google maps is amazing.

Is connected drive a part of the combox on e92?

Yes and no - it is handled by the combox on combox fitted cars and by the telematics unit on pre-combox cars. You don't need a Combox for it, I don't have one and I get the BMW Online features etc too:

It's a subscription service though and it doesn't work with retrofits because the VIN's don't match up etc IIRC.

I never go to shopping centres or Basingstoke so I guess it's no use to me :D

Indeed fox but some people have a real soft spot for the e46 and hate the e92, much like a lot of people hating the current f82 m4. I imagine like Housey said the e92 will start growing in popularity due to the awesome NA V8 under the bonnet. Every generation of m3's has had its detractors.

Also I promised myself the Exhaust would be the last mod I did to this car but I've been quoted £900 for a CIC retrofit including contoller, coding, latest update etc(Excluding combox as I have a tune2air for playlists and album art which is the main reason I'd want a combox) and I have to say I'm extremely tempted. Worth it?

You can fit the NBT system to your E92, can't quite remember the total cost but it was around 1k so not much more than fitting the CIC system.
