So I realised the error of my ways...

Should have spent twice as much money on the same car on a 12 plate to be honest :p

I assume in classic fox fashion that was tongue in cheek as they are the same car bar lci rear lights which I can source for £450 (If I wanted) and CIC idrive.

Anyway pictures time, excuse the poor quality and delay (Accident on M25 meant it took me nearly 1.5 hours to get back) but I will get the DSLR out and take proper pics soon to post in the show your motors thread.

For now these will have to suffice :p

fantastic :D gorgeous car. Get CIC with combox or NBT retrofitted, it's a relatively easy job these days and improves the infotainment no end (bluetooth streaming/bmw apps etc)

Pics look good, looking forward to the better ones :)

I've got a BMW insured warranty on it (fully comp), wouldn't that mod potentially invalidate it?

It will only invalidate it for the exhaust, however if push did come to shove and the worst happened (engine went pop) and you wanted to be extra sure, it's only the back box so you could source another OEM one for the duration of the claim. Paul's welds are neat and hidden nicely on the top of the box, you won't notice them unless you go looking for them.

Sounds like people know a lot of silly M3 owners in this thread :p

Out of interest, how much did it cost you? (If you don't mind!)

Looks in very good condition :D

I'm not joking when I say it looks at worst a year old. The previous owners have looked after it extremely well and low mileage was a bonus at only 37k.

In terms of options it has:

EDC
Pro Hi-fi
USB Music interface & 6CD changer
Folding Mirrors
Heated seats driver and passenger
Adaptive headlights
Interior lighting package
Leather carbon interior trim
PDC front and rear.

I paid £19,300 for it in the end and you'd be hard pressed to find anything close to the condition, mileage and spec at that price range now.

Lovely car. Is there much difference between the coupe and saloon? Mechanically I mean. Also, whats the feeling on DCT Vs manual?

Not that I'm aware of. In terms of DCT vs manual, I tried the DCT and it's great but I just prefer manual and also couldn't justify the massive premium to get a 2009 model.

I think I'm going to go for it, all exhaust components aren't even covered by the BMW warranty so the only issue is if it caused an engine issue which I'm told is highly unlikely.

The Saloon has two extra doors with all the mechanics that go into opening them, windows, etc.

Lol!

Vox, I'm getting mine done by Paul next week. Thinking of going 2.5 pipe though as I prefer the rasp and note a bit more. Unfortunately I'm west london so a bit far to get over to Bexley, as would have been good to hear the 2 pipe.

Anyway on another note is the cold start a bit unsociable? I've heard it's considerably louder than stock!

Do you do many motorway miles? 2 pipe is certainly loud enough for me, and under any form of even mild acceleration on the motorway you will hear the exhaust. It's not a drone as such, but it can get irritating if you do a lot of miles, but it's cured by just turning up the stereo a bit. Like yourself I did seriously consider the 2.5 pipe mod, in hindsight I'm glad I didn't.

Cold start is very unsociable and the right sort of pitch to drone through walls and annoy people very quickly. I reverse up against my house which amplifies it even further, the neighbors must be very glad I don't drive it to work every morning lol.
