So I've been to Game to trade in...

The state game is in at the moment, I've recently started trading at CEX, although they don't do price matching which is annoying, I've always preferred trade-ins at Gamestation, the local GS has loads better stuff than Game

If you want a handheld gaming console then id say yes get a PSVita as it does more than the IPad3 ever can in terms of gaming. However if you want another multimedia device for browsing, watching films, music and playing Angry Birds... id not bother wasting money on a PSVita as thats what an Ipad3 can do.

Thats my take on it, as I play games on my PSVita and then watch TV/Films on the Ipad.

I recently traded in my DSi for a 3DS, I just wish they'd have made the 3DS and XL model, admittedly I was able to trade in the DSi, a PSP and some games so I got the 3DS for £10!

A Vita would be nice, but I'd only play Wipeout on it, which I can do on the PS3

Just don't know if I'd use a psvita! But I don't want £160 or more sitting on a card doing not much when the company might go bust lol

If you plan on getting store credit, just use it there and then, thats why I did, find something you want, trade in your old stuff and exchange it the same day.

If you hold on to credit for too long you'll lose your money.

Or, take cash, although its less it means you don't have to worry about using it up straight away or losing it.

CEX is my new favourite shop though, they have an iMac in the window that has been taughting me for weeks.

They take old computer parts too!

get cash then or trade in at your local CEX, as theres no signs of them going out of business

Are you sure? Unless I've got the wrong end of the stick they are trying to sell second hand games at a higher price than they are new from amazon.

Really? well thats interesting news, not something I'm aware of, being able to get Sonic Generations 3D and MW3 on PC for under £30 combined seems like a pretty good deal to me

21 xbox games that haven't been used in over a year.

Note to self, trade or sell on games immediately after you've grown tired of playing them for maximum credit!

now my question to you is this...... Is it really worth getting a psVita for £230 when i already have an iPad 3. is it going to blow me away that much? Obviously i have to buy something in game with all this credit, but maybe i could buy one and sell it on brand new unopened for close to the market value just to have the cash?

Not sure with the regards to the comparison with iPad to PS Vita. They are different products that can co-exist with each other and not leave the other feeling left out. I would suggest waiting for the price drop on the PS Vita, especially considering your hesitance.

any other ideas what i could buy!?

Nintendo 3DS would be my first choice. An excellent device that's got a decent and rapidly growing library of AAA titles. Cheaper than the PS Vita, although not quite as diverse, and much more portable.

Well I'm off to trade in my spare Xbox etc for another £100 credit so I will have £260 in store credit

Im now also off to turkey with work for 6 weeks on Wednesday! This puts me in a position of hoping game doesn't go out of business in that time or get a vita or 3ds to keep me company on the plane

So what, they should sell in such a way that they make a loss?

Don't be idiotic.

I guess the people running GAME are going along the same thought process as you.

GAME easily had the resources to do what so many other retailers have done in recent years, and to switch to the same online strategy that you outline in the previous post.
