So I've been to Game to trade in...

I guess the people running GAME are going along the same thought process as you.

GAME easily had the resources to do what so many other retailers have done in recent years, and to switch to the same online strategy that you outline in the previous post.

Game overexpanded and oversaturated their market. That was their mistake. They were also extremely unfortunate in terms of timing in that the recession kicked in right as they'd signed up for expensive property leases. Selling on the high street and charging higher prices than online is not an inherently flawed strategy.

Personally I would buy products and sell them new using Ebay or something. Vita or PS3 slim, 3DS, find out what they're going for on Ebay first though.

You'd possibly beable to turn your store credit into useable cash then.

Indeed, The PC selling Purple Shirt store is proof of that.

Thanks for the heads up on this trade in offer. I've just been to my local Game store and traded 15 Xbox games for a whopping £208!! :D

Speaking as someone who's lucky enough to own a 3DS, PS Vita and iPad 3 I would say since I've bought the iPad I've not really had the urge to play the other 2, Thing is people can go on and on about iPads and phones etc. not being hardcore games machines because of the lack of proper controls. But what they do have is a massive and constantly expanding range of games that within minutes and for a few pennies you could be playing and some of these games are awesome and do keep me hooked and coming back for more :)

I don't regret buying either the 3DS or Vita as I wanted the core Nintendo games and I'm such a big wipeout fan that it was worth it to me for that one game.

One of the problems I face now is after buying great games off the Appstore like Swordigo, Gyro13, Bike Baron and Shine Runner mostly at 69p it's a real struggle to buy a £29.99+ mobile game..

thanks for that. i think I'm going to wait until my return from working away for 6 weeks and then go buy a vita and sell it brand new in box i think!

After trading a little more in today I'm up to £283 of store credit!!! not bad for a pile that I've been looking at for years :P

Good trade in deal at Game currently isn't there? Any two games from current systems gets you an extra £10 or something?

Offer is any 3 games gets you an extra £10. Unfortunately my closest store is now 17 miles away.

I went into Game today and managed to get £213 credit from 18 games.

Lowest trade in value was £6.40 for Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 and Operation Flashpoint. Great deal considering it only cost me less than £4 for both.

21 xbox games that haven't been used in over a year. and in return they gave me £161.40 in credit!! Happy days! Now i have a second xbox that i might take in for further £70.

now my question to you is this...... Is it really worth getting a psVita for £230 when i already have an iPad 3. is it going to blow me away that much? Obviously i have to buy something in game with all this credit, but maybe i could buy one and sell it on brand new unopened for close to the market value just to have the cash?

any other ideas what i could buy!?

I've just realised you're still on the forum mate ;)

Thanks for the heads up, I have a few games I want to get rid of and a couple I'd like so hopefully they'll be as generous for me as they have for you!

e: Just popped in to find that Game has closed down here ¬_¬
