The textures is a flaw of the Unreal 3 engine because we can't load/preload/cache textures locally on our 360 hard disks, so they have to be streamed off the dvd. The nature of the engine means that it loads textures last. Biochoc and Gears all had the same issues, using the same engine.
I wonder if it will run any better on PC because the 360 version suffers a lot of frame dropping.
I would hazard a guess it would be the same, it was a game made for consoles primarily.
No. The only changes listed are interface ones to take advantage of mouse/keyboard.... and doesn't the list of features sound like bits they probably chopped out of the 360 version because the couldn't finish it in time for release?
It won't be the same, it will be better this is always the case with console to PC ports.
Unless of course it's done very badly, but judging from Kotor and so on from Bioware it will be fine.
Usually PC turns out better, unless they completely **** it up, but with Bioware I'm confident the PC version will appear with a better frame rate (hardware dependant) and loss of texture pop-up, oh and it will probably be optimized fairly well considering the engine, hopefully. You think most console to PC ports are better on PC? OR are you agreeing with me that they are normally better on Consoles than PC, or that because Bioware are doing it that it will be the same on both (which is what I was trying to imply).
I'm pretty sure the majority of ports have given better frame rates, sure they haven't always been perfect but the frame rate increase is always welcome.I think you're getting confused. Most console to PC ports are very rarely better on PC.
I'm struggling to think of one which was better on PC (I'm not saying it hasn't happened once or twice).
720p.
The frame-rate issues don't hinder the game at all, more of a minor annoyance. If it was something really fast paced it would be bad, but it's not, I'm a stickler for stuff like that, and whilst this game shouldn't have had it, what it does have has no impact on the game as a whole.
Everyone goes overboard on the frame rate issues. On my first play of the game I didn't even notice the texture pops, let alone the odd bit of stuttering. These issues are just glorified by others who are used to ub3r frame rates.I am just curious about frame rate issues on the 360 with this game... what resolution are you guys playing in? 1080i, 1080p, 720p, or standard definition?
