So...My first Service A on the Supra

The VXR is so rare I've given up trying to get one to test drive.

I wouldn't bother to be fair, the Astra is a much more involving car to drive although the space in the Vectra is nice.

I don't think you need to educate me on Vauxhalls lol;).

quite clearly i do

show me a vauxhall dealer car park with more than 1 vectra VXR in it and i'll eat my hat.

My point about the current stock was an illustration of rarity. Even Astons, the VXR specialist who have about 8 Astra VXRs currently in stock (more than any other dealer i know) dont have any.

Its not as though im being deluded either, even fox who will slate vauxhalls whenever he can, agrees they're rare.

Yet you seem insistent that any vauxhall dealer should have bountifull experience with them as they're all sat qued up outside every vauxhall dealer all the time.

Re-read my posts, I was never talking about how many were in stock, I never talked about stock once. I referred to there being VXRs whenever we took the Vectras in for service (ie. in the service bays), thus hinting at the fact that there are dealers who have working servicing knowledge of the standard Vauxhall range.

stock is an indication of rarity.

No dealers have them because they are rare.

I severely doubt your local vuaxhall dealer had several VECTRA VXRs there whenever you took your car for a service.

It's the main dealer in Luton, there are always a couple of VXRs there being serviced.

Not Vectras though

so your post is irrelevant. Yes we know most dealers will have astra VXRs in regularly, but thats because there are 4 or 5 times more of them on the roads.

But that still doesnt give them any experience of working on the vectra VXR, completely different engine, completely different suspension, different brakes etc.. etc..

Has the original question been answered yet?

sorry for taking it off topic, but he's winding me up. Probably deliberately.

I'm talking about Vectras, i'm just finding it bizarre that you think the Vectra VXR requires specialist attention when it doesn't and to back this up I mentioned that I see Vectra VXRs being serviced at our main dealer thus the knowledge is there. End of the day it's a modern Vectra produced on the same line as all the other ones, servicing instructions and knowledge is available at all the Vauxhall dealers.

whatever. I give up. Pass me a rope.

Next time you're down the dealer, take a picture of the vectra VXRs parked up in the customer carpark for servicing. Until then, i'm pretty sure you're just talking drivel because for some unknown reason, you got the hump with my statement that dealers dont have experience of working on them. Despite what you say, it still doesnt change the fact that most dealers never even see them, as even the service desk clerk said he hadnt booked one of them in before. And i severely doubt any dealer "has them in all the time" to gain experience with working on them, despite what you claim. Because at the end of the day, your talking ****.

And i maintain that, as you'll be waiting a long time to take a picture of a dealer with more than 1 vectra VXR in for servicing / work.

Why on earth would I lie about something like that lol? I'm sure Fox will agree with me saying that i've been probably the biggest supporter of Vectras on this forum for the best part of 9 years!
