So what are we expecting from the 6900xt?

I think £950 is massively optimistic, I'd expect to see it more like £1050 or £1100, then when they instantly sell out bumped up to £1200.

At 4K not much, barley squeezing past a 3080GTX.

This is where infinity cash will become the bottleneck, i think.

The only hope for it being a success is if AMD unlocked it power bios enabling full voltage/clocks so it can be overclocked property.

Otherwise it might be a bit of a flop for 1K

Faster than 3090 at 1080p
Equal to 3090 at 1440p
Equal to 3080 at 4K

2080TI performance for RT

The gap between 6800XT and 6900XT is smaller on paper than the gap between 3080 and 3090 so it will not be much faster than the 6800XT. It will likely just build on the 6800XT's strengths and boost some of it's weaknesses

This guy knows his beans.

Random question as this cropped up in my old grey matter:

Anyone remember playing Bloodwych on the Amiga back in the day? :D

Not much, this was supposed to be the Nvidia killing 'Big Navi' GPU we kept hearing about, but instead will be nearly as good as a RTX 3090, with significantly worse ray tracing performance.

I'd be a lot more positive about it if it had a sensible price, like £700-750 for the reference model, and they could actually produce enough to keep prices near to RRP.

The RX 6800 XT is already getting 60 FPS (minimum) at 4k resolution in all but a few games. If the 6900 XT can't hit 60 in the remaining few, I don't see the point in it really.
