I'm expecting another few hundred pages' worth of salt on this forum after the cards get listed for £1200+ and are immediately unavailable.

PMSL - I hope not but yes can see your reasonings..
It will beat the 3090 at 1080p and 1440p. But at 4K, I expect it to be slightly faster/on par with 3080. Likely to be on par as the 3080 is 8% faster than 6800XT at 4k. Unfortunately stock levels will be non-existent and the AIB cards would be priced around £1200-1300, so the 3090 FE would be a much better buy as there are fairly regular drops of it nowadays. 6900XT would be likely unavailable till Feb
