So, what's cooking tomorrow?

Looks awesome well done, I bet it well be yumtastic as well.

Did you add a touch of vanilla and sugar to the cream?
Some recipes use plain cream and it's sacrilege.

Doh, I thought that I had forgotten something, I meant to get some vanilla while I was out shopping but totally forgot so the cream is plain, i'll remember for next time!

A lot of recipes don't include it so it's certainly not wrong or end of the world, but I think it makes a massive difference. It's why I don't like buying ready made cream cakes as they don't do it either. Just a cap of vanilla extract and like a tablespoon of sugar per pint is all it needs.

Couldn't be bothered to joint a chicken tonight, so I've got some free-range thighs instead. Will be roasting them with a mix of red and yellow peppers, aubergine, potato and a dressing of olive oil, crushed garlic, chilli and lime over the whole lot. Have also got some white sourdough bread which I might cube up and throw in to soak up the juices. It should turn into some pretty flavoursome crunchy croutons.

Should be a glass of white left over from last night, but it was pretty ropey. I think it's the first time I've thought that I can brew better myself ;)

Actually having chinese style pork loin chops, marinading them at the minute and then going to breadcrumb and deep fry 'em. Should be yummy (I hope...)...

Funky blurry picture, but it tasted good.

That looks well tasty!!! I'm going to learn how to bake cake soon. Been getting the BBC GoodFood magazine and it has some amazing looking recipes in it.

A bit late for this thread but tonights plan is Lamb Kofta with some Felafal and Couscous. First time we will have made it all from scratch. Oh and also have a nice looking 2006 Rioja Reserva :)

Steak, ale and Stilton pie with veg, potatoes and gravy.

Steak is marinading in the fridge as we speak. Tempted to do a write up of the recipe actually if people are interested.....

Please do!

Tonight's dinner is a simple dish of fish cakes and boiled veg.

Feeling like either steak or roast chicken tomorrow.

My pork was pretty tasty.

Quick recipe, for anyone that is interested:

1 x Tablespoon of hot chilli powder.
2 x Tablespoons of five spice.
1 x finely chopped garlic clove.
2 x Tablespoons of honey, dissolved in a bit of hot water.
3 x Tablespoons of soy sauce.
1 x Tablespoon of seasame oil.

Mixed all that together, marinated 4 pork loin steaks in it for an hour (if I make it again, they will be marinated for at least 3 hours, if not overnight - but time constraints meant I could only afford an hour).
Heated up some oil in a pan.
Dipped the steaks in egg, and then into breadcrumbs and fried them for about 4 minutes, turning once (my oil was quite shallow). Drained, and then served with rice and veg (didn't have much in).

Quick (bar the marinade) and tasty. Something a bit different to do with pork loin.
Next time possibily some more honey, and like I said it needs longer than an hour to really infuse.

Tignanello is my favourite Italian wine. I haven't tried the 2005 yet. Usually I prefer the 2007, which is exceptional. We'll see.

Any chance of a wine review now you've had it? I wouldn't be opening a 2005 for a few years yet myself. I have a couple of magnums his brother made I'm saving for a suitable occasion.

I had a hangover pizza for lunch, ate too much so won't be having dinner tonight, thinking of doing Thai tomorrow for dinner tomorrow though. Maybe start with noodles (i've a bastardised phad thai i've been making for years) and then a nice yellow curry, on a seafood kick right now.
