Is this some of the "famous" scouse wit?

Girlfriend (know what one of those is?) bought it for me cleverclogs. Don't worry I will buy an Extreme version of Westmere when it is released.
You guys should probably drop it, or perhaps set up a fight behind the bike sheds.![]()
I'd hate to see the lecture you gave her for not getting the 'BEST'.
Also, yes I do know what 'one of those is'. The fact that you're trying to demonstrate your maturity by telling us you have a girl friend is terrible.
Yes I have a girlfriend too going on 4 years, big deal that makes to you and anyone else on here though.
i have the choice of the samsung 226w monitor and ive a sony kdl 46300x tv so i could go up to res, 2560x1600 thats why i ask if 2 Gainward ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 "Rampage would be worh it..
Back to helping the OP! The max res on the 226w is 1680x1050 and on the sony is 1080p so u wont be able to get 2560x1600 on either of these, need a 30" PC monitor for that res. TVs dont quite cut it yet so 1 4870X2 would likely be plenty good enough. You can always order one, see how it goes and if u want more power buy a second but i doubt u'd need it.
So I'd settle for 4870 1GB Crossfire and probably skip the X2 altogether. You can start with one card, see how it goes and then grab another if it's not up to par for your needs.

perosally i'd got for a 4870 1GB, not an X2, but it's your choice.yeah you right on the res on the sony tv...what a bummer...
so 1 4870X2 looks like the best choice for now, mabe a new motherboard and cpu too. like you say see how things go ....cheers
