Quite an interesting feature of Vista, a 'simple' way of expressing your PC's performance! I imagine this number will start being printed on software boxes, eg 'This software requires a WEI of 3 or higher', better for some people than complex acronyms and jargon :p

So, my WEI is 4.0, consisting of:

AMD Athlon 64 3700+ = 4.1
1Gb Corsair Value = 4.0
ATI Radeon X1800XT = 5.9
'Gaming Graphics' = 5.8
Seagate 80Gb IDE = 5.2

So what's yours? :)

Can't recall the individual component score but overall with my rig in the sig, it's 4.3. I guess the 2Gb memory must count for a lot as the chap above me has better components all round.

It uses the lowest score so, if you've got an uber system but pants HD (for instance) then it'll report the low score from the HD.

And my Vista test machine is a 2.9 IIRC. Thats an XP2500/512/9600.

Base Score: 4

Processor - 4 (Pentium M 2.13GHz)
Memory - 4.4 (2GB)
Graphics - 5.9 (NVidia GeForce 7800GTX Go)
Gaming Graphics - 5.7
Primary HD - 4

Dell Inspiron 9300 Laptop

5.5

Spec is

Core Duo 6300 @ 3.35ghz
4gb G-Akil6400HZ this was the lowest score 5.5
Ati x1900xt
2 x 74gb Raptors In Raid 0

At work and canna remember the scores for the other components. But mem was the lowest.

Something i find impressive is a mates laptop here at work gets a rating of 4. and his graphics is a quadro card rated at 4  didnt know they existed in laptops.

My laptop HP dv5157eu gets 2.4

AMD Turion 34ml?? i think
1gb ram
100gb hdd
Grpahics being the letdown there lol. 2.4 ati 200m

Overall: 5.0
CPU: 5.0
Memory: 5.1
Graphics + Harddrive ones: ~5.9

With a X2 4400+, 2gb ram, Nvidia 7800GTX, WD Raptor.

Can't remember the exact figures as I am at work, my work machine running 5472 gets with a P4, 1gb ram:

Overall: 3.1
Processor: 3.1
Memory: 3.2
Graphics: 4.4 + 3.9
Harddrive: 4.5

Couldn't find another thread about this, so this will do.

I got 5.2, which I was quite happy with. The funny thing was it was the CPU that lowered the base score, everything else was above 5.6. Any PC with a score over 5 is likely to do very well I imagine.

The servers at my work would probably get a rating of about 0.1 because of the 1998-style ATI Mach64 XL graphics chipsets, nevermind the fact that they have dual dualcore Xeon's with 4GB of RAM and 5 15k SCSI HD's each :p

Pretty flawed rating system imo. Thanks M$, more confusion.

Not really. Vista isn't designed for servers.

My pc (before I sold it last week) was 4.2.
