So what's your Windows Experience Index? (Vista only!)

Mine got 5.9 overall

Core 2 Quad 6700 @3.1
2 Gig Corsair Dominatrix 8500
2 * Deskstar 400's RAID 0
MSI 8800GTX stock

This only after installing that new beta driver, until then my gfx scored 1.
I don't think 6 is actually possible? even at 3500 CPU same score.

Oi tink it mean squat too :p

As far as I know the current limit is 5.9, but microsoft are going to raise it higher later on anyway :) then we'll all be sad that our hardware doesnt get the best possible rating and need new parts again! :D ;)

Mines:

Windows Vista OEM Ultimate
35000+ XP 64bit
2gb Gskill Memory
Msi K8N Neo 2 Plat
200GB Sata HD + 3 other internal hd's
Radeon 9800 pro 128mb

Get a main rating of 4.1

Seems to run very well UNTIL i install a program.. i get like 3 minute lockups while its configuring the installer then it installs VERY slowly. other than that everything runs very smoothly and all programs are nice and fast. Although if i start multi tasking like 4 or 5 things at once i get a solid lock up for good 10 mins haha.. although im guesing i would need duel core for trying to push the OS.

I know vista supports a lot more memory but I know my 2gb of gskill is top notch (or was few months ago) will that get a better score if i upgraded to duel core etc? as it would have less stress there fore work smoother and get a better score? I cant see my memory score at the moment as im in the office but i know it was a lot lower than i expected.. like 4.1 or so...

Anybody else notice slow installs and

you get a better score by upgrading the lowest scored part :)

my 2GB of GSkill got 5.9, what kind is yours? Mine is the PC2-6400NR (normal speed 800mhz 5-5-5-15 with green heatsink)

Any ideas what an X2 4800+ gets on the WEI?
I'm not aware of a higher spec socket 939 CPU (feel free to correct me) and as my CPU and RAM are the lowest scoring things on the WEI it may be worthwhile me just upgrading them.

My 4800 at the default 2.4ghz always scores 4.9 :(

And surprisingly my cheap 2gb cas 3 Corsair value ram also scores 4.9 :)

5.7 - Total
5.7 - Cpu
5.9 - Ram
5.9 - Graphics
5.9 - Disk

Core 2 X6800 @ 3.46 = 5.8
4Gb Crucial Anniversary @ 770 3-3-3-12 2T = 5.9
XFX XXX 8800GTX = 5.9
'Gaming Graphics' = 5.9
WD 500GB SATA2 = 5.2

Shifted my Vista install to one of my seagate drives & disk transfer rate went up to 5.7... upping my overall score to 5.7

i got 5.7 on cpu 5.9 on all other components so happy days

ive a n overclocked e6300 to 3.1 ghz
8800gtx
2 gig corsair 6400 800mhz ram
150gb raptor

The following blog from the windows team should help understand how the scores are calculated. Explained why I was getting a rubbish memory score (I have less than 1.5gig of ram!)

http://windowsvistablog.com/blogs/windowsvista/pages/458117.aspx

4.1 - CPU (Athlon 64 3500+)
3.6 - RAM (1Gb DDR Ram)
5.9 - GRAPHICS - Windows - 7600gt
5.4 - GAMING - Games - 7600gt
5.2 - PRIMARY DISK - (Old 120Gig 2Mb Cache IDE 133Mhz Seagate!!!)

Disk score seems crazy, considering its the same as TastyWeats 500G SATA2 drive!!
