So when's the next "big" CPU release?

Its scary how fast technology evolves. You could buy a top of the line PC, bring it home and it would be out of date by the time you boot up >_>

Sorry. This HWbot is dam addictive! I spent all my spare time at the weekend rebuilding my raid array (brand new samsung drive failed one me :() and then getting my stupid 2.4b strap working so I could have my memory running at 1300Mhz.

Completely forgot to post my bios settings. Sorry. I'll do it tonight.

I have actually managed to tweak the settings down now from the one I copied and I know have all my voltages less than maxc recommended for 4.5Ghz and my memory running at 1200Mhz with tight timings to boot as well. That's my 24/7 settings sorted anyway :D

Good stuff, look forward to it. ;)

I'll post some more settings up for different cpu speeds another day. I seem to have got 4.68 stable and not silly voltages so that may end up being my day to day clock :)

the next big thing is this clicky

"Rumours are currently circulating that Bulldozer may be capable of thread-fusing or using multiple cores to compute a single thread. Thread fusing is one of the holy grails of PC processing. If Bulldozer is indeed capable of such a feat, the future could be very bright indeed for AMD"

after reading about it on here i just remembered to do a google to find out more and the above way the first site i visited and the above quote if true would be awesome, even if it's running at lets say 2GHz with 8 cores using this to run an older game or something that isnt multi threaded would be awesome and sounds like the future untill games and apps are multi threaded

i hope amd can pull this off not because i'm an amd fanboy or anything but because i like big advances in tech :D

Hmm bulldozer is a big 'IF' with regards to thread fusing in my opinion, but saying that it can only be good for the market if it is capable:)

By the way i think the 920 I7's will definatly be coming off sale with the release of I5 etc... regardles of what AMD come up with i think its prittty much set in stone now.
