I was more of a C&C kiddy back in the day and wasnt aware untill tonight that Westwood were responsible for the WoW series originally.

Is it too late to hop on board, is it worth it what with SWTOR?

Nah, I gave up in 2010, after a steady decline from early 2007. Blizz killed the game with TBC in my opinion. I take it that SWTOR is the next expansion? I think they're introducing a panda race (or a furry race of some sort), but that's all I know.

Well yeah im intruiged by it - used to play c&c a fair bit back in the days of bnc networks etc :).

SWTOR Star Wars: The Old Republic..

Blizzard made Warcraft and WoW, Westwood made C&C. There is no relation. the expansion is Mists of Pandaria and nothing to do with Pandas. I am waiting for Guild Wars 2 personally if I do decide to play a new MMO. Heard mixed reviews about SWTOR.

I've Wiki'd your expansion title. Looks like we are getting pandas lol! Like I said, I recalled something along the lines that we were going to get pandas or at least another furry race.

I've just started WoW for the first time this weekend. Quite fun! Not sure I'll play for long though...what with Diablo 3 on the way plus I'm thinking about GW2...

Once you realise you're not actually playing with other people, but playing on your own with other people in the way... you just stop.

Same is true of SWTOR.

And every other MMO.

I think you nailed it there. Though I've already pre-purchased GW2 and I don't even know why. I suppose I probably will play it but I'll be too casual to keep up with friends most likely in leveling and alike.

With GW2 other people don't get in the way, you don't even need to team with them, as long as you're there and tagged it/participating you get rewarded, you actually WANT them to be there :D

to be honest I was in the beta and found GW2 more dull than SWTOR or WoW. I kinda dig teras combat but I can't stand stand asian styled games my only hope is the secret world :)

Yeah, it's nothing to do with Westwood. Blizzard made Warcraft. Warcraft III is still an excellent game to this day, and definitely worth a try if you like the RTS genre.

Regardless, if you've never played WoW, you might find it reasonably entertaining. It's incredibly dated these days, and is nothing like it used to be, but it's still the best MMO around.

Try the demo, it lets you play up to level 20, which should give you some idea of what the game is like, but remember, it's very time consuming if you get into it.

if youve never played its worth a try.
i personally would say go with wow instead of star wars but better yet, try Rift

I'd leave Rift alone, too empty EU side (in terms of non-raid equipped players). So it would take quite a long time to get geared. It was quite common that i'd have to wait 30-45 minutes or so to get into a dungeon queued as DPS.
