So who do you think will win game of the year then?

Most of those nominations are quite unworthy. :(

Blood Money was good for character, soundtrack and the game itself Civ IV deserves PC game of the year.

Oblivion was good, so I hope that does well too.

It should be Oblivion, but all that tells me is the dire state of the games on offer. Yes Oblivion has a great engine and a vast map but so what, walking around getting spanked by a badger (because of the weird scaling engine) is not my idea of fun. FEAR is good but rediculously easy and waaaay to short.

FEAR also didn't come out in 2006.

Just some ideas

HL2 EP 1/2
Oblivion
Prey

Company of heroes
Settlers next gen
It will definitely be one of these, and my bet is on Oblivion purely for the franchise and publicity. Many disagree, but I also think it's an excellent game worthy of the award.

I really think it will be between Oblivion and Resi 4, probably oblivion tho, ive clocked like 50hours of play on that and am barely anywhere on the main quest lol

Resi 4 was great, story was a bit weak but everything else about the game was class.

Hitman blood money  why is that in there? I had a shot of the demo in PC Gamer and it was soo bad, i usually love those types of games but it didnt..work. I must have threw about $100 worth of coins tryin to distract these 2 guards n nuthin happened. Then i ran by em in plain sight, 10 minutes later in middle of the level the come running up behind me and i die..not fun tbh

Thinking about it, its been a bad year for games!

Oblivion and AOE 3 are the only games I've bought!

So far no game deserves to win game of the year. It would be the same as when Titanic, that piece of garbage, won movie of the year at the Oscars. I do not want to start a whole doom and gloom about gaming but this year so far has been mediocre.

Has to be oblivion. Its by far the best game this year. It may not live upto its predecessors, but its a great game on its own.

Oblivion will win it by a mile, it truely is a stunning game in it's ownright but the fantastic mod community means that people will still be playing it in years to come. Hopefully by then pc's will be able to play it on high settings with a decent framerate :D
