So who's preparing for winter this year?

I've got some cheapo 15" alloys for the Mini just cos it's too much hassle cleaning my Team Dynamics alloys with all those spokes.

Also bought a cheapo Suzuki GS500 for winter motorbike duties so I can keep my ZX6R in the garage (the last thing I want to do is drop it on the snow/ice)

those tyres were perfectly good back then, the only reason they wouldnt be good now is if theyve been on the shelf for 4-5 years

They'll likely be at least a few years old.

Snobbery? No. I just think it a bit daft to get something that won't have been manufactured in the last two to three years.

Not as daft as making things up on the internet though.

GSD3 remained in production in certain sizes both for oem fit reasons and because the Asymmetric is not made in smaller sizes.

i would say my preparation was living in poole but last winter we had so much snow and subsequently ice on our estate, i couldn't get up and down the road that easily. they only grit the main routes which meant no grit on ours so as the snow got compacted and thawed a little then re-froze we had a week of iced up roads.

by the time you got to bournemouth, it was much clearer though.

I won't be using the car much so I'll just have to bear with it if I do. Its all flat around here so it shouldn't be much trouble, just worried about people crashing in to it.

I should probably think about it seeing as I'm going to be in Aberdeen for the winter :p

Although I need to get a new car (not for snow reasons, need to upgrade the student mobile), however I'll most likely be walking to work so prob won't be an issue.
