So who's preparing for winter this year?

4x winter Conti tyres
4 heated seats set to max
heated front and rear windscreen and mirrors
torch
de-icer

Will put a shovel in the boot once we actually get some snow :p

I am preparing by practising my throttle control so I can get some proper sideways action going on one it gets a bit slippery.
I will also increase the concentration of my washer fluid and maybe turn the climate control temperature up to 20.
If it gets snowy, I'll drop my tyre pressures a bit if I can be bothered.

Mostly I'll do the same as last year which was drive slightly more carefully.

My dad is doing some landscaping in his garden at the moment, so I might nick a few old paving slabs to go in the boot, but realistically Im planning not to be able to drive the car if we get a week of ice/snow. A lightweight roadster with RWD and summer tyres...probs wont be worth the risk, assuming I can even manage a small incline.

EDIT:The tyres are Toyo T1Rs, hence the concern.

wow wish i could afford to go buy tyres just because its winter :(

tell me about it:(

I guess they barely wear down in the snow or ice though so providing you can afford the space to store them and £20 to have them swapped over at the beginning/end of the winter you could get a fair few years out of them. Long run economy - it doesn't make the initial £300+ spend (ford focus) any easier!
