*Raises hand*

Ordered a present from Tesco Direct for my dad's birthday and Christmas last week using next-day delivery. I got an email confirming dispatch and payment processed on the 18th, but had no sign of it. On the 21st I called up customer services and told them I wasn't happy and asked what's going on. I was told the package is at the Romford depot and should arrive within a day or so. It's now 8pm on Xmas eve, the package has been sat at the depot all week despite having paid for next-day delivery, my dad's birthday has been and gone and I've got nothing to show for it.

Thanks Tesco. Irony in all this is that if I'd bought the same gift from another online retailer, it would have arrived by now as my brother purchased goods through them at the same time.

My dad isn't too worried about it being late, which is good to know, but it's the principle of the thing that's really frustrated me now. The weather hasn't even been that bad this past week, so that's not an excuse.

Anyone else still waiting on delivery?

Just one but I wasn't expecting it before Christmas anyway, I decided to get most of my online stuff done in the first week of December this year so seems to have done the trick.

Postman stop work, he has a life too, will back to work next week to delivery mail once again

Next day delivery is fine in summer when everyone is on summer holidays and millions of people are not sending gifts, cards and ordering off internet sites.

Why order a birthday present on the 18th of December, suck it up

Unlucky Nix, I don't want to rub it in but I just went and bought all my presents a few hours ago, from Tesco direct... Luckily they were open 'till 7 tonight! :D

Retailers shouldn't make promises they can't keep. Nor should they confirm dispatch telling me when it's going to arrive then fail to do so. I understand it's Christmas, and that's why I've waited patiently all week.

I paid extra for the delivery. Not that it's any of your business either, but I'd only just got paid. The 18th wasn't when I ordered it, that was when it was supposed to arrive. No, I won't suck it up. It's unacceptable that the item has been sat in a depot for a whole week.

such crap

Everything arrived, despite my best efforts to convince DPD not to delivery my OcUK delivery by ranting on here on the morning of the day they delivered!

I only ordered most stuff mid-week last week too, and living up here I didn't think I stood a chance in hell.

Waiting on City Link.... not a Christmas present though :).

I ordered an in-stock item from Amazon on 14 Dec 2010, and payed the extra for First Class delivery instead of Free Super Saver.

On 17/12/10 "These goods have been scanned at the collection Depot and are now on route to the delivery Depot."

On 24/12/10 "These goods have successfully arrived at the Depot ready for delivery."

"Planned Delivery Date: Monday 20th December"

I had another parcel arrive yesterday. From the sticker on the box I could see that the sender had payed for a Next Day service (but didn't charge me for postage ) and given it to the courier on the 15th..... yesterday was the 23rd.

With regards to the Snow... there hasn't been a single day when it was not possible to drive from my house to the M4 motorway.

Well i ordered something off Amazon on the 2nd and still have not got it. Also, we've not had any post for about a week!

Can you not claim then, get your postage money back?

Was waiting on one gift that I ordered two weeks ago. Postman came to deliver it today at 12 but I was still at work. I got home at just after 3pm and the card left mentioned I could collect the parcel, but the darn post office shut at 3pm.

I delivered a parcel today and the lady at the door started crying :) Said she was panicking all week that it wouldn't arrive.

I felt all warm and cosy inside :)

Finally got the last couple of things I needed to be wrapped up delivered yesterday. I thought I was extremely lucky because it was Christmas Eve the next day and expecting there to be no post let alone deliveries. But today the post woman came and delivered another parcel, then a Royal Mail van came and delivered another parcel.

Better sooner rather than later I guess.
