Steve seems fairly normal, Kev is a total nutter :D

They are both very hungry though :)

Just thought I'd post some photos of my male P.ornata before he goes on his travels to Ireland where there is a female waiting for him :D

Hmm, i think i'm having some heating problems since moving ziggy to the glass tank. I've had the heat mat on the outside of the glass, the room is kind of chilly today and it seems like the heat isn't actually penertraiting the glass.

Are there any downfalls in putting the heat mat inside the tank on the back of one of the walls?

Well ziggy (one of my first tarantulas, a curly hair) looks like he's had his final moult :( He's a fully fledged bloke with mating hooks now :(

I feel really strange about it to be honest as i've had him since he was 1cm, he's now 4.5 - 5 inchs big

So, he's going to be around for what? About a year at most before he dies :(

What species is he? You should really put him to good use rather than let him die :)

DHR, I've got a sub adult B.albo (curly) not 100% sure on the gender but I’m 80% sure it’s a female. It looks like it’s about to moult in the next few weeks - So I wouldn't mind borrowing your male if mine is indeed a female, that’s if you fancy a few dozen spiderlings if all goes well ;)

Well my fangless P ornata moulted on monday :D

I thought he was a goner but he's clearly as hard as nails

He spent the next three days just flopping around recovering, but today he's up on his toes and looking like he could use a meal

I fear for the crickets this coming evening ;)

She's really starting to fatten up, i'm sure she must be due a moult cos her abdomen is really swollen. Can see her bald patch too a lot clearer than before.

Haven't posted any pictures for a while, so I grabbed my camera whilst at Ray Gabriels house and snapped a few of his spiders.

First up, Avicularia purpurea:

Next, Tapinaucheneus purpureus

Sub-adult male Poecilotheria metallica.
No- I haven't photoshopped it to look brighter, and yes two of the legs are regenerating ones.

Nice to see the metallica is such a passionate Leeds fan :p

One of my 1cm P murinus slings was giving me attitude yesterday!

I was trying to remove that cricket leg from near him nad he didn't appreciate it :D
