lol, some cheap 939 chips too. Clearance CPU's will appear here over the next few days but, as mentioned, are EXTREMELY limited. ONLY ONE OR TWO OF EACH IN MOST CASES!!

Where are those 939 chips cheap,

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Venice (Socket 939) - OEM £76.32 inc vat of that link.

Off the proper overclocks page

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Venice (Socket 939) - Retail - (£62.22 Including VAT at 17.5%

Obviously a price mix up there, this will be sorted out. Keep an eye on the link as more will appear over the next week.

Argh, seriously tempted by that XP-2600M Barton.

Gah!

And I'm supposed to be upgrading in the near future as well.

EDIT: argh, went for it. Ah well, lets see how much I can clock out of the bugger.

The tbred comes in at over a ton including postage, so I'm not sure how up to date that is either.

This made me chuckle in the B-grade GPU section as well:

**B Grade** MSI ATI Radeon X800 SE 256MB DDR3 TV-Out/DVI (AGP) - Retail (BG-083-MS)
Originally sold at £139.95+VAT

Price: £200.11 (£235.13 Including VAT at 17.5%)

Hi guys,

I'll get these prices double checked 1st thing monday.

Thoroughbred 333Mhz clock like mad and have been known to hit 2.9Ghz + on a vapochill rig. They still make decent gaming chips and some people who can't afford to ugrade a whole system and have a dead SKT A CPU will find these chips a godsend. They are not in production anymore.

and nutbuster - they are clearnce items - you or anybody else does not HAVE to buy them. lol :) Socaddict seems happy though (see above) ;)

I'm interested in exactly what those 2800 T'breds are; as I seem to remember this was the last T'bred XP that AMD anounced before the Bartons were realised; but as this came so quickly after AMD immediately stopped production in favour of the Bartons; so the 2700 was left as the fastest T'bred. I understand there were a few pre-prod. and ES 2800s around but were nearly as rare as hens teeth. Have OC found some of these 3yr+ cpus? or did AMD make some much later on? I would suggest that if they are later versions, they will be multi locked and the stepping will be poor, so getting to 2.9GHz would be rather difficult I'd guess. Can you tell us the multi and GHz of this cpu please as the spec. does not give this and niether does the link.

Found this info on the 2800 t'bird and looking at the clock speed that relates to a 13x multi. If its locked or not is a different question.

Type: Thoroughbred

I'd advise anyone looking for a Socket A upgrade that clocks (if your lucky), to go for the Mobile 2.6, if there are any left.

This is as much info as any of the OPN-462/64 tool would reveal guys:
