Seems ATI driver 10.4 and earlier is the one to go for in order to get this game to work.
Also seems that I can't get Windows 7 to actually install the bloody thing! ARGH!
You can install the latest drivers and play, you just download atioglxx.dll and stick it in your sof2 directory.
I stopped playing a few months back and had the same problem, using that file sorted it out for me![]()
Dammit! Dug mine out and installed it, Win7 64bit. As soon as I launch the game, I get a "... has stopped working" message and my windows display theme goes all messed up.
Seems to be down to the ATI drivers installed, but I can't be assed swapping and changing drivers at this point (it's a laptop, too, so I'd likely have to download modded infs, etc.).

Do you multiple monitors and if so do you use Ultramon ?
This was the problem with my previous installs. Game never worked but did when Ultramon was switched off.
Nope, I'm literally just trying to play it on a Dell laptop. HD5470 (I think) video card.
I've just figured that by renaming one or two of the ATI dll files in the Windows\SysWOW64 folder, the console behaves differently at launch, stating that it couldn't load the OpenGL renderer.
If I then copy the files mentioned previously from the driver extraction folder (in this case, 10.4), it give the LoadLibrary error I mentioned earlier.
If I completely reinstall the ATI drivers, then try the game, I get the "... has stopped working" error. Can't win.![]()
found my sof 2 case looked in it and i only have disc 2 missing disc 1
