Turns out British Gas didn't tell us they needed an export reading (am I crazy thinking smart meters covered export) so have just put in for our first claim

The "traditional" energy suppliers all seem to be useless at export. I've just had an email from EDF asking for an export reading for the quarterly payment. We left them on 21st July!

To be honest I had to send Octopus opening readings for export as well. (photo)
I wonder if the data isnt kept for export or something unless its flagged.
Or its not sent until enabled, that sort of thing.
Most people would be sending zeros constantly.

Agree. I have an export supplier setup when I got the solar paperwork, only a few do it over here. When my existing supplier was dealing with me recently it seemed to blow their minds we had a register for the export. The local DNO were contractually doing their physical reading inspections and feeding it back over time yet the suppliers are not that clued up it seems.

Tomorrow String 2 goes live…….all wiring complete all the way to the house, just need to switch off the inverter and plug in the 2nd string, just in time to give us a winter boost.
