It's still not connected though, as the 80A fuse is apparently not enough to safely supply what we have even before the EV charger goes in, so off to the DNO it goes.

Really, what does the installer think you have that uses 80A?

80 amps protects the cables. Are they only 16mm at the meter position?

It could be that, 25mm tails are required for a 100A supply, 80A fuse will not blow if 80A is exceeded briefly, it takes quite a while for the main fuse to blow, or a substantial short circuit current to blow instantly. In fact an 80A fuse can supply 100A for up to four hours (time chart in below document).

The above document also implies they won't fit 100A fuses anymore, but I've never seen that mentioned anywhere else.

The holder is usually marked 100A, the fuse inside could be 60,80 or 100A.

If you haven't already got one, make sure they fit a mains switch isolator, it will make things simpler if you ever need to isolate the supply to the consumer unit, for future electrical work.

7.91kWh produced and 2.47kWh exported yesterday.

That just illustrates the issue with the way SolarEdge reports to PV Output, that has you at pretty much 13 kWh generated yesterday as it incorrectly counts energy from the battery as generation.

I also very rarely use the SolarEdge app now, but the issue only occurs if you have a SolarEdge battery and use the API to upload to Clearly it reports the correct value somewhere, as he posts it on here.
