Solar panel production figures

0.1 today! Crappy system!

So I got a quote:

5.46kW Solar PV: 12 x 455W Panel 'AIKO Neostar + Mesh' System + 5.18kW FOX ESS - Hybrid Battery
PV Installation for a total cost of: £7,095.00 Inclusive of VAT

Given my 6 panel system was installed at a "cost" of £7.5k with no battery and half the amount of 405w panels, though that sounded OK. Also said they could move the old system to my garage roof...

Any thoughts?

Doesn’t sound terrible, especially if it includes moving the old system but I’d post it in the other thread where you’ll likely get more people to see it.

Crappy weather and season. December is by far the worst month for me. Even with a larger system on bad days you will still generate very little so dont go in with the idea you will be generating a lot more on these bad days.

No I'm not, but I want to generate an excess in the summer which pays me and offsets these expensive months a bit. I have storage heaters and I used 650kwh overnight compared to 139 day time 17/11-16/12 - storage heaters love to munch power!

I've got Octopus so every exported unit is 15p...my day rate is 29p, night is 12p.

It is, but if IIRC he's got a redicously small system installed by a previous owner.

Good plan... also look into Octopus go, 8.5p a unit for 5 hours if that is enough time to fill your storage heaters it can save you some more.

THat's a good shout but I thought you had to have an EV for that tariff? But that would actually knock 1/3ish off my bill which is not insignificant...

You do but there is no checks, do what you will with that information.

Eon drive next is even cheaper, 7p for 7 hours daily, again, no checks. 16p export also.
