Create a new fake email and give him that. He’s trying to correspond outside eBay and scam you probably. See what he sends.

Just tell him to go to his basket and press buy now and go through eBay that way, he doesn’t need any details at all from you, you will be charged the 10% selling fee or whatever it is but least you are covered that way. You won’t be covered if you do things direct and “outwith” of eBay. Had a lot of experiences with scammers it’s not nice

Bail out on this one mate, not worth the risk on 900 quid item IMO.

Sounds dodgy as! Avoid, it's likely to be a scam.
I would imagine that they have access to a compromised PP account, and by paying you directly via PP (maybe via PP gift), you will lose the money, once the fraud has been discovered - I believe that's how it works from past instances I have read about.
I'd be tempted to cancel the order, listing it as there was a fault or something, and re-list it again. Make sure to block the buyer this time around, and maybe configure your eBay to only allow bidders with 10+ feedback - you should be able to find out how via Google.
If it all went awry, eBay would likely wash their hands of it, and you'll be down £900!
Personally I would give him my PayPal address and when the money has been sent just say you cannot see any funds, then say you contacted eBay and they cannot see anything to suggest he paid.
That's just me though, I like to troll the scamming scum.

I've cancelled the order said the dcrscr won't turn on to pretend it's faulty.

What I'm saying is they are willingly trying to con you, so just use the correct system procedures against them. It's written in black and white and pretty self evident you pay through eBay via PayPal.
But they'd just check my PayPal and notice it ?

Wouldn't be any eBay references in PayPal for that transaction though (if they do it outside of eBay)
Only for business sellers I believe, for private sellers it doesn't show up I think.
