Hi I am wondering if ssd drives are worth it at the moment with them being so expensive, I was thinking of looking at either 32gb or a 64 gb version

I am wondering if i use the ssd drive just for installing windows 7 64 bit and general internet and installing my games on a normal HD drive will it affect performance as a ssd drive will be to small to install many games etc

Any guidance would be appreciated

Ps My system is a oc i7 920 to 3.5gb and 6gb of ram

Thanks

SSDs speed up the loading of programs

After a program is loaded doesn't matter what drive you've got, it's now running from memory so loading a game/map/mission will be faster but playing it will be no different from a hard drive.

So does that mean if i install games and that on the main hard drive due to ssd s being small and expensive for large size still and just basics on the ssd then they will still wont make much difference

I gathered that but thanks anyway, am just trying to justify if they are worth it yet and would prob not go for anything higher than a 64gb as to expensive.

Fast boot time is nice but for the real greatness is the speed at which operating around windows is compared to conventional HD. If you got the money, i recommend getting one. Install O/S and regurlarly used programs. You won't look back.

Note: SSD's also speed up the loading of levels in certain games too.
