You mention you bought a wacom the other day. Any recommendations? I want to get one and get into tablet editing, but not sure whether to get A5/A4 size. Not sue I can afford a good one.

If youre just getting started, get a bamboo touch and pen, or if youre willing to spend more nothing beats the Intuos4.

In terms of size the larger you buy the more expensive they get. I use an A6 bamboo tablet which works great, havent got enough to spend on a5/a4 yet!

nice work mate, breathtaking.

You should defo look into 3d studio max / zbrush etc if it takes your fancy, one thing I've always wanted to do was some 3d abstract work.

I actually thought the first few sets of images were 3d then photoshoped with post effects, as thats how I've seen people do this type of thing before :)

Although the images are interesting they just dont seem like they belong in their environment. They look false and unconnected to the actual picture. Unless that is what you are going for?

You certainly have a talent but I wouldnt say its Pro. The lighting doesnt quite feel right and it alienates your objects from the scene. I think you need to pay a little more attention to what changes these objects would make to the picture as they look a little cut and paste.

Only my personal thoughts like you asked but still very interesting.

Ahhh sup Sasuke :) shame fr4gz is so dead these days :(

thanks man - I might get myself a copy of c4d this weekend and have a play around with it, have always wanted to :)

Thanks for the comments, they are supposed to look like they are in the image, as for paying attention to the changes the objects would make i feel I obsessed loads over that point exactly and pulled it off, but fair enough if you believe otherwise :) - would be nice to know what ones exactly you are talking about and where the lighting is messed up so i can touch them up maybe

Well the horse one is good as I like light source is focused on the horse and the composition is interesting as your eye can flow down the leg. But I think I would have been tempted to get darker towards the edge. It would give the picture more of a feel of emptiness and depth. Like it is completely alone in space (or where ever it is). I think it only needs fine tuning.

The 2nd one has the light source coming from the rear and very central and from the water that appears to be the only source. Which would mean that the the head would have different shadows rather than it all being on the right hand side. With the body (armour/machine) being very symmetrical that side of the face wouldnt be cast in shadow. And the whole body wouldnt have as much light on the outer sides.

The third one Im not sure with as Im not sure if the spikey bit it supposed to be protuding from the wall or if its a flat image. It just feels generally a bit flat without depth.

The forth I like but I think with a little fine tuning you could make it great. The surfaces are quite light so I think by adding more reflections from the light would intensify the picture. You want to make the picture feel like it is going to explode. I get the sense of energy bursting out and manipulating the structure of the walls. Just needs to have more energy.

The cat one doesnt seem to belong there at all. You would have to test with multiple light sources to find out where the shadows would go for this one but I would at least start with the reflective floor. I can see you have done a little bit with it but I dont think its enough for the size of the object.

The tiger one would be tricky to get just right as its body is made of flames. Its a great image but I dont think I have enough room to type out where to start with that. I would start with the light first and then add more depth with deeper shadows. I think the flames from the tiger would out power the natural light from the ceiling.

I hope you take my suggestions with good heart. Over all I think they are very good. I just feel if you spent a little more time on them you could make them amazing. The good thing about working with this medium is that you can experiment with different things without worrying about ruining the actual picture.

To me the horse is the weakest of the lot. There's nothing in it but the horse's head; the "leg" is probably the weakest abstract part in all of your pics, and most of the image is just solid black.

Not really keen on the spider creature thing either, but I love every other pic.

The only one that doesn't quite "look like it's there" is the one with the abandoned sofa but even despite that it's still a great pic. Every other pic in the thread is pretty much spot on.

Dan I'm a designer and illustrator and I know the guys at future publishing and have forwarded what you've been up to. People in that community will not look to fondly on this and word always gets around. Good luck with your career.
