SOME RYZEN 7 1700 OVERCLOCKING!

Lots of mathematians here trying to find new prime numbers i see

If you want a proper burn test in that manner, go run Firestarter. Check the way it loads your CPU versus IBT.

I might drag out my abacus tomorrow, obsolete tools seem to be all the rage here ;). It doesn't have the capability to push the CPU correctly, using an imperfect tool to crash your machine is exactly that.

There are many better tools.

I use whatever i can to try and make my rig fall over. Who are you to say otherwise?

Yeah I don't get what you are saying, IBT is old yeah and so are the game engines we run and how their base code is. You know those calculations they do in that old format. Well IBT happens to picking up the same issue and thus works excellent to resolve it. Yeah you shouldn't rely just on IBT but that isn't what anyone is suggesting.

To also be so short sighted in that it doesn't have the ability to push the CPU correctly is irrelevant. Games don't either with their current engine design but the instruction sets they use and how they load the CPU and your system generally is not the same as what the other for-mentioned software/benchmark programs do either, many others that now have the ability to load it fully with all the latest instruction sets and where your software/games do use them of course this is good to test for stability.

Someone needs to throw together a tool which runs 1 hour of maximum IBT, 1hr of updated linpack (incase of updated extension support/stressing alternate parts of the CPU) maximum, Realbench and a few other tools so we've got one 'Go-To'. haha :)

As for 'unrealistic', others have addressed this above. You do the stress tests you want. If you think using a CPU to solve mathematical equations is 'unrealistic' that's up to you.

On that note, isnt a computer program, i.e. a game just at the end of the day lots of very complicated maths? What language it is written is translated ultimately into binary code (0's & 1's) and the CPU just crunches the numbers!!!

hmm think I might try for 4.2 on my next day off it's at 4 now 1.38 .. and just read if you increase the soc it will go higher ..
I've got a temp of 28c idle and 37 under load .. so should push it a little more ..
