Looking for a game to get me back into gaming after too long of a break, I have put nearly 2k hours into Ark: Survival Evolved, 1k+ into CS:GO, I loved racing games like NFS, Forza Horizon on the xbox but havent been able to find anything I love in ages and its really frustrating me...

Any ideas? Cookie to the one that finds me something that gets my love for gaming back...

Racing games are good right now, Assetto Corsa, Project Cars 2. To get the best out of them you really need a wheel though, and they're not like Forza at all. Proper petrolhead stuff, they will bite you if you don't drive properly. Can't comment on other stuff other than VR is awesome despite the resolution.

I had a Logitech G27 and full stand and seat, had iRacing and Assetto last year, and just never used it... Would be worth another shot just dont want to sink in the money to get the rig again...

Your 1k+ hours in CSGO would be easily transferable into PlayerUnknowns Battlegrounds, a lot of the top players are so good due to muscle memory gained from CSGO.

I stopped playing CS:GO a long time ago, and was tempted by PUBG just never went to buy it... FPS's really do my head in half the time

I'd leave it then, if it wasn't for you with all the kit, not much will have changed tbh. Unless you wanted to give VR a go, it's a natural fit with racing/flying games, much more than roomscale which is still developing.

The beauty of PC gaming is the whole variety of games available to us all.

I like to play games that are typically console oriented like Tomb Raider, FIFA, Forza etc.

But I also enjoy my simulations. I played Civ 5 to death and played a lot of Shadowrun and Xcom.

Right now I spend a lot of time playing PUBG with my friends or Rocket League. Rocket League is awesome. I've just got Steam Link set up on my Samsung 4k TV so now I can chill out on the sofa and play some adventure games if I want to chill out.

It's not any one game that draws us to PC gaming, it's the whole smorgasbord on offer. From budget indie games to the biggest blockbusters.

I think it falls down to rotating the type of games you play to stop genre fatigue. I loved Skyrim but played Fallout 3 soon after and couldn't wait to be done with it. Why not try Prey or Destiny 2?

If you can afford it - you wouldn't be the first person to have had their interest in gaming rekindled by upgrading to an ultrawide monitor. It certainly made me want to back and play all the games in my library to experience them at that resolution.

In terms of racing games, I too got bored with the current offerings but recently picked up Redout which has bee a total breath of fresh air - it's so fast and the tracks are awesome. I also got Toybox Turbos (like a modern mircomachines) in a bundle recently and the gameplay is just exactly how it used to be in those classic games - had really great fun with it.

PUBG is nowhere near as frustrating as CS:GO though, It's fun in squads.
A skill based shooter is more stressful than a loot based one? You lose in CSGO it's on you, you lose in PUBG half the time it's because they had better gear than you lol.

I know which is more frustrating!

Battlegrounds is extremely fun. If you'd like to test and see if you like the concept without putting down money, get Fortnite Battle Royale, which is a streamlined cartoonified PUBG.
Watch out for hacker kids. Aimbots and wallhacks are rampant.

Rust, I fell out of love with pc gaming for a while, but I've put 500+ hours into it and I'm usually a casual gamer.

Also playing a corking platformer called Outlander at the moment, think old school prince of Persia with modern tropes, which I got for a song.

Also what about Prey, it's on my next to buy list.

In general I've moved away from AAA titles, and have really, really enjoyed some indie and early access titles.

Sometimes I get stuck in a rut of genres and get no joy out of games for a while. I've found going for games outside of my usual genre really has helped me enjoy it again. Transistor instantly springs to mind too, and I occasionally dip into Cities Skylines and Factorio, serious time sinks!
